Is the Tacoma TRD Pro worth the extra $10k over a TRD Off-Road, ZR2 or Ranger?

    Here ya go

A comparison of a 2015 TRD Offroad with 50k miles and a 2015 TRD PRO with 50k miles.

Added features to the TRDOR to make it match the TRD Pro

Need I say more? An astonishing $400 difference in resale in just 3 years.

I'd rather not think of all the $ spent :(
I beat mine like no other. I HOPED the suspension would do what I wanted, but I have too much added to mine. So its getting upgraded, just like the speakers did. I still love the Pro truck; to me it's nothing more than a trim level (I don't like the name they chose but so what). And I paid less than the "limited" on the lot, and about the same as the ORs that are there now. Who would ever compare any Tacoma to a Raptor? That's like a Renault to a Audi. Totally different builds.

Not sure why you keep trying to reassure yourself on your purchase.

TRD OR is an awesome truck. TRD Pro is even better. There is no “ifs” and / or “buts” about it.

Any red blooded male American would choose a Pro over an OR, money not being an issue.

Only soccer moms or terrorists would say otherwise.

    And longbed owners....

If the Pro came in the AC configuration with manual then I MIGHT consider it but not that dinky little bed on a $47k truck.

Many red blooded Americans would agree!

Just for S&G's, I did a quick build and price on a ZR2 with the diesel and off road package. It was $3k more than a similarly equipped SR5 Tundra OR w/ V8...

You ever read reviews of the frontier? There was one I saw and under cons it literally said "outdated in every way." Lol

That's what attracted me to the SR acces cab trim. "Get a crew cab again" they said. "A truck with no back seats, are you crazy?!" they said. I love having built in tool boxes that I can lock inside and have plenty of room to throw crap behind the seat. Plus I don't have to ever worry about "hey, let's all pile in his truck, he can drive!". I predict the SR trim will be one of those "damn I should have got one when I had the chance!" trims.:D

That is probably an accurate description as I think it was last redesigned around 2005.

Pro is definitely not the way to go for you.

I would say TRDOR, as I own one myself and think it is the most superior all around trim, but if you're not going to do much, if any off roading, and are more worried about looks... maybe the TRD Sport is the one for you?

    Yep, no longbed Pro.

I've had five Toyota trucks in 30+ years, only one had the short bed. Never doing that shit again.

OP - what's your definition of worth? If you have the cash and like what the Pro offers then get it. I personally think it's overpriced, but if you have the money and want a Pro then go for it.

Most people here will tell you to buy a lower trim and add mods. That's what I did, but that's also because that's what I wanted to do, and what I could afford to do. I wanted better tires, rock sliders, Method wheels (can't wait forever for SCS lol), and some adjustable coilovers. None of those things come stock on the Pro, so my decision was pretty easy, and I couldn't justify spending the extra cash on a Pro just to remove bits on it that "make it a Pro". If you have more money, then your perspective is likely different from mine.
