Is there a spacer that goes on top of the strut assembly???

Yea... I installed my 5100's myself. Im just curious how hard the studs are to remove/install while the strut assembly is together.?

You will need to take the top plate off from the strut assembly in order to remove the old studs and install extended studs. I found it quite simple to do my self with a spring compressor I rented from Advance Auto Parts but I hear quite a few people complaining about poor quality spring compressors or their saftey. As long as you get a decent spring compressor, and be vigilant, you should be ok. We are talking about the stock spring after all, not an aftermarket spring with a high rate.

 

i don't think your supposed to add a spacer with the 5100. im not positive though

 

^I was just thinking that. Not only that, you'd be going over 3" which puts you into new UCA territory.

 

You guys are correct. I should have read a little more before before I posted. Anyways, using a spacer with the 5100s is not recommended.
