    Thanks

Did that for a few years in my 08' till I found out how to turn it off myself. If I just clip it, the seatbelt strap gets in the way if I ever have to open the passenger side access door, and it's not as comfortable for the pup (main reason). Plus, no offense, but that'd be fine if there weren't any other options, but THERE ARE, they're just no longer free. Every fix I've found involves dropping at least another $10-20 at the minimum since the dealerships here refuse, and that just rubs me the wrong way. It's my damn truck, and I should be able to do what I want to it (within reason) without it costing me more money and a ton of time online. I'll stop bitching now.

One problem with that in cases like this.

You are in an accident that is not your fault, but your injuries are much greater, or you die, due to your lack of seat belt use.

While the other party needs to 'pay the freight' for being at fault, you are causing them excessive penalty for your choice.

If that person is uninsured, or under insured, they can be ruined, and wind up being a burden on the state. Now you've impacted all taxpayers. For your 'freedom'.

It's not a matter of 'civil disobedience'. Those choices don't impact others. Your's can.

My dealership turned it off for me last week at my 20K service. No questions asked. Its page 601 in the manual if you need to pull that card.

There are cheaper bluetooth OBD readers if you want to go that route. Carista just has a slicker interface and to me is less likely to fail. Others are perfectly happy with their 6 dollar ebay special and think I'm crazy.

nothing says going to jail like no seat belt and a open bottle.... but at least you can leave your bottle opener attached to the car.

But really I wouldnt mind something like this for my passenger side.
