I got about 19 daily driving my 4.0, and 22-23 on the highway with effortless cruise at 75mph. I'm getting 20mph daily with the 3.5, but highway mileage is also 20mpg and cruising at 75 is a real struggle. This new engine has no part-throttle power at all compared to the 4.0. Sure, it makes power when you are aggressive with the pedal, but I don't normally drive like that. If I had to guess, it's the cam timing of the Atkinson cycle killing all the grunt. They way they have it geared, it needs to make torque at 1500rpm and the 3.5 has nothing at 1500. The 4.0 had bags of torque right off idle. So in my particular situation, the 3.5 is a lose/lose. Less power, mileage not really better.

    In the Nav System manual:

    Capture 1.jpg

    Capture 2.jpg

I can't say for sure if it does anything, but I have mine set to "High."

I THINK I played with that and it had no impact on the nav voice. Admittedly, I frequently forget why I entered a room or put my glasses on to look for my glasses, and with my level of OCD......

I will check into that menu and play with the navigation to see if it helps.

    Thanks :hattip:

    No problem!

That is a general audio setting. It might or might not help with the navi voice?

I'm in the same boat, the only thing I really needed was a long bed, so an SR was just fine. Bluetooth, backup camera, and no back seats were all a bonus to me!

I wish it came with intermittent wipers. How hard is that to put in?

Sealed bed. When I put my canopy on there are still multiple holes letting in rain and snow.

Very easy. A screw driver and 10 minutes is all you need to swap out the stalks. There's a very good write up somewhere on here.

If it helps, if you insert the key into the driver's side keyhole and turn it clockwise twice quickly, it will unlock the passenger's side door.

My last BMW had a wonderful feature...any time the Nav voice was speaking, just turn the volume knob to adjust her voice. Brilliant.

Would be nice in the Taco, oh but the ZF 8-speed first, please.
