Sounds to me like you got to weigh out the pros and cons! I.E. Do you like the color, do you like the double cab, short box or long box, us truck or canadian truck, automatic or manual. and so on!

I love the truck, only thing I would change is the short box to a long box, but its not a HUGE deal. Just want to make sure I spend the money the best

well NOW im convinced. Problem is, I cant fathom giving the bank 7-8k for interest. Its a 6.89% fixed rate right now. Leasing a new I4 access cab would be like 2%

    Would you pay 25% more $$$ for 0 miles? Almost $10G? I wouldn't and I can. Hell, I bought an 08 to save $6 - $7000 over a new one. with 24K

But one of my considerations was I don't put more than 6K a year on any vehicle so the longevity would be equal for the time I keep them. I try to keep them 5 years.60K to stay in the sweet spot of used resale. I never drove a vehicle more than 100K. So I have to buy used to save any money at all. Otherwise I would be paying for and selling low milage new vehicles with 30K after 5 years. The years would trump the mileage at resale time. Not so much with 8 year old Trucks, the mileage is a bigger factor for the buyer of old vehicles.

LOL Makes sense to me anyway

You need to think about it today , and figure out which truck is better suited to your needs .

    Then make a decision .

23000 miles is not a lot. just bought a 2008 with 22000 miles also, plus where i live they do not charge used sales tax when buying from a private party.

Would you guys choose a 4.9 variable over a 6.89 fixed?

6 year variable, 7 year fixed. I want to stretch it out because I put so much extra money on our mortgage. Im not too worried about the trucks value being low too because in 6-7 years its still gonna be a sweet little ride

I would personally lean toward fixed because I am more comfortable knowing what I have to commit to a loan each month , however some may feel differently .

Sounds to me like you can buy a brand new truck with full warranty for a lot less, may not be as fancy but at least you know what you got and the majority of your money is going to principal and not interest. I know you got my mind made up! the biggest thing is the dealer will take a heck of a lot better care of you since you bought it from them. if you were buying new is that the color you would pick?
