Mine is loose too coming from the driver side CV axel assembly. I get some clunking when I go off roading. To confirm this is normal?

It’s the needle bearing. Needs to be replaced with the east coast bushing.

Wondering if that loose CV joint is causing the clunking sound everytime I hit a bump??? :/

Going to order the ECGS Toyota 8” axel bushing to replace my needle bearing (driver side). Mine is really loose and I get a loud clunking sound intermittently when I hit a dip or bump. My guess it’s coming from that loose CV axel:(

I hope that’s the cause of the clunking, it’s going to set me back about $500 to get this fixed:(

Did you ever get this figured out? I replaced the needle bearing with the bushing the same day that we installed the lift. My axle has movement just like the OP even after the ECGS replacement. I get a weird clunking sound when going from a stop to acceleration.

I’ve got the same thing going on and noticed it when I was checking the wheels for any play. At the 9 and 3 position there is slight play and clunking noise which is the cv axle. I’ve had some bump steer issues lately and was wondering if that’s the culprit?

Verify it’s actually the Cv and not the steering rack hitting the lockout side to side. Your going to get some fake play at 9-3 because of that.
