They definitely have it, even my 2007 MacBook had it. Check your preferences. Hold 2 fingers on track pad and click.

Interesting, it does work. Learn something new every day.

I actually don't like touchpads in general. I refuse to give up my ThinkPad at work until Lenovo wins a bid for laptops again because the TrackPoint is so much nicer.

I could never get used to the trackpoint, but i like that it's an option, and there are mouse buttons above the trackpad, as well as being able to click the trackpad itself

The trackpad on my Dell Latitude is terrible :frusty: I prefer the trackpad on my mac over a mouse though, it's that good.

I have yet to use a laptop that has a better trackpad than macbooks.

Is it the trackpad itself? Or it's behavoir? I know under Linux, the trackpad is completely configureable. Not sure about Windows.

By default the trackpoint isn't great. It moves too slowly and requires too much effort. Once you adjust it, though, it's fantastic. Never have to lift your finger. With the three buttons under it you can even use it to scroll.

It may also be that my first laptop was a ThinkPad without a touchpad, so I got used to the trackpoint really quickly. I hate touchpads now.

Bed rug, ARE bed top, Weathertechs. Little goodies here and there!
The HP Elitebook also has the Trackpoint. Think they just copied Lenovo, but it does seem to work the same. Two button clickers just below the space bar and another set below the track pad. I too prefer the Trackpoint vs the pad.

850 G3 and 840 G3 are the current models we'll be acquiring. I do like them.. lightweight and thin.

We end up with ProBooks instead of EliteBooks, so no trackpoint on ours.

    Not enough...
Or a keyboard, for that matter.

I'd argue that ThinkPads have the best keyboards (at least the higher-end ones, like the T series and up). They're so good that Lenovo has made them for desktops.

Almost 20 years since I've built this one, still works. I just need to find a AT to PS2 adapter so I can use my PS2 to USB adapter. Otherwise my keyboard doesn't work until the OS has started.

I'm not sure who decided that my model ThinkPad should have a led indicator on the Mute (F1) key, but not the capslock key. Other than that, best laptop keyboard I've used.

Mine has no lights at all, but I just have an E545. Bought it open box really cheap a few years ago, bumped the RAM to 8 GB and put a 250 GB SSD into it. I was at around $400 by the time I was done. Does everything I need it to do.

I tend to avoid technology as much as possible when I am not at work, though, so I don't need much.

Anyone running ZFS on Linux? Seems like updates take forever to be compatible with current kernel releases. Last ZFS release was 4 months ago.

    Hello IT people,

Been messing with a raspberry pi 3. Right now I have to:

    1. hook up an ethernet cable to my router
    2. Ssh into pi
    3. Run command: sudo ifup wlan1
    4. Then I can ssh into via wifi

Is there anyway I can just ssh into it from wifi without having the plug in the ethernet cable first and run the ifup command?

Here is the youtube tutorial I followed. The only thing I did different was use wlan1 because that is the wifi dongle.

    I got it working.

    1. sudo nano /etc/networks/interfaces

    2. Add: allow-hotplug wlan1

In the interface file under wlan1
