My desktop is running out of memory on photorectification runs. Damn 64gb setups are cheap now, though.

I like job security. Without Microsoft, Apple, Google, et al, and their crappy software/hardware what would we do, be productive members of society? :D

Microsoft and windows servers sure keep our vulnerability remediation program active. It’s the *nix ones that stress us out the most because that’s where most of our custom code lives. A high or critical vulnerability there means code changes, and the clock starts ticking on discovery. We get audited heavily on those, and rely on a lot of compensating security measures for added protection.

Looks like the guys who wrote it. “We couldn’t figure out how to fix the connection in HTML5 so we’re using Java...” (gunshot)

Oh my God, I'm laughing way too hard at this.

I'm up to my armpits in getting a security accreditation with DoD for connections on the new VA/DoD Electronic Health Record project - for a set of connections that HAVEN'T BEEN FUCKING ENGINEERED YET!! I swear, the people running this shit-show have no idea what they're doing, what they're looking at, and what it looks like when they actually get what they need.

I'd say "kill me now" but then I'd probably be resurrected as myself still working this fucking problem for another 50 years.

    I've run that command :anonymous:

(on a test box that I was doing a bare metal restore on.

Not that exciting actually, but oddly satisfying.)

Fun to see how long the system will still run until it needs something not already in memory.

I have been asked to rename my organization at the end of a(nother) reorganization. My submission was "Security Hosting Implementation Team."

So far, it's passed two leadership review meetings.

I can't wait to see a door placard exclaiming that my team is "The SHIT."

    :fingerscrossed:

We're a paperless office - no printers. Printing is done to PDFs.

    Adobe is the new bidet.

Any ideas why I’m having YouTube buffering issues on my iPhone? Trying to stream a 1080 video on YouTube and it keeps buffering and dropping resolution, these are my Speedtest results.
Using the YouTube app if it makes a difference, everything is up to date, no other apps running in the background and very little bandwidth used by other devices.

    Yeah.
Probably something on the CDN side not being able to deliver it at the rate needed. Your numbers look plenty good.

So I'm looking to redo the wireless coverage. Currently in an apartment and going to replace a possible clunky extender and router. I have a TPlink R650 and Archer c2300 router. I do some streaming from a plex server over wifi to a tv. Any recommendations for replacing those devices?

    TIA.

I have a single Netgear Nighthawk X10 and it has been a beast. Handles about 25 connected devices, streaming, gaming, and I can hit it from my back yard and three houses down across the street.

Looking at some of the new ones, I think they’d more than meet your needs.
