Man, I miss getting to touch and work on the actual hardware. I haven't seen one of my servers with my own eyes in probably 6 years.

I'm starting to feel like you. I've been deploying an OLAP cube database over and over today (got to do it every time I tweak). Takes about 2 hours and I've already done it twice today... on my third, I think I'm just going to go home and let it cook.

It's amazing the amount of work I get done when I'm in timeout... My Win 7 x64 print server is badass, smooth as butter, it will be getting load tested over the next couple weeks before full implementation.

It went fine, just took forever. I have 5 more servers to go. Luckily because of the vmware cluster and Vmotion, there is zero down time for the guest servers. :woot:

So, earlier one of my co-workers asks me why his copy came out so crappy(all faded and not very clear at the top of that page) Then he shows me the original that was all faded and not very clear at the top....

What is it you're looking for?

I know a tiny bit about it but not much beyond the conceptual stuff and how it might be useful for somethings.

I'm wondering more how it works... How all of that "stuff" can just be "hidden".

    Is it magic?

My interpretation is more of search and data aggregation. Normal search is pretty simple by comparison--all text. I don't get the database integration part. I think I understand the goal but it's a huge challenge.

Yes, from what I've gathered it's not easy (and sometimes not safe) at all. Gotta be careful on that extra deep russian part of the interwebz.
