    The floppies weren't very useful anyhow. At least that's what the wife says. :notsure:

    Didn't know this thread was here... I'll have to check in on it later.

    I do on site support for small to medium businesses. So pretty much whatever breaks I get to fix. Generally it isn't bad and I get to work with a large variety of software/hardware. The variety is nice; beats the idea of being just a dedicated device tech. If I had my pick though I'd like to stay with LANs/Wireless though.

    Sure do love hearing "Our product isn't designed to work on 64 bit machines." Do these people just think it's going to go away if they don't support it?

    Yes, yes they do. MS is at least forcing the issue. I believe Windows 8 will no longer offer a 32 bit version, just like Windows Server 2008 R2 doesn't have a 32 bit version.

    Have you heard anything about 128 bit? I gotta believe that is a few years down the road.

    Can't imagine they would need to update that register for a while... How much RAM do you really need to map? 64-bit doesn't provide enough? :p

    AMD has a proc in the works. "Buldozer"

    Going from 32 to 64, memory addressing is what pushed it. I think processing power is what will push the 128 bit procs. Twice as much data can be processed, but they will need memory and bus speeds to keep up too.

    Sooooooooo haaiiiiii guys

    Last night my bro was chillin with the nerd joy of Diablo 3
    blizzard's been having problems with people hacking into their servers and hacking peoples accounts

    Last night he got kicked off while he was playing, saying a remote source was accessing his account. A few mins later his account was gone, (haha, nerd rage) but the scary part was after he closed the game his comp started getting controlled, browsers and files on his comp started opening and his passwords were being changed

    He shut off the comp and turned our router off

    Ideas?

    What OS? sounds like he did get hacked. Does he have a firewall (other than the windows FW) between him and the internet?

    Pretty fancy hack to find and get to the real world ip, through the modem and router, and then onto the desktop.

    Does the router have a hardware firewall...?

    Odd indeed that he made it all the way to a machine on the network... Unless you guys are running a DMZ or have otherwise put his desktop outside of the router's firewall...?

    Did he open any ports on the router or computer?

    I guess it's OK to plug the router back in, but I would not connect that computer to the internet until it's been scrubbed - or even better, wiped.

    If he doesn't have some sort of device running a firewall between his computer and the internet, don't plug it back in. Unplug it from the internet, get the necessary data off of the computer and wipe it. Then before you put it back on the internet, make sure you have a router with a firewall in between the computer and the internet.

    PHP:

    Without seeing any other snippets, I'd go with C++. Stupid semi-colons :p.

    nope, not C++, although semi-colons aren't exactly required in this language. That is a habit I picked up from PHP. PHP they are definitely required and will screw you over. Here is the whole class. There are a few keywords in here that should be a dead giveaway

    PHP:
    package com.dop.proctor.ui
    {

    import flash.display.*;

    import flash.events.*;

    import com.greensock.TweenLite;

    import com.greensock.easing.Expo;

    import com.dop.proctor.events.*;

        public class
