find it kinda sad you have to put aftermarket stuff on the 3rd gen to make it better.

Come on man. There's enough bullshit in the 3rd gen forum without us 2nd gen guys taking a dump on a perfectly good thread.

There is plenty of room from the bottom of the longest Toyota filter to the skid plate. No need to worry of a filter rip off.

Nice to see it all worked. You can get an extended drain Amsoil filter, not sure if it would fit the Baxter though

What does viscosity have to do with making your engine last longer? By that logic why don’t you just put gear oil in your engine

I don't believe so, cant recall any 3.5 Engine failures on here outside of one guy with a K&N Filter that was sucking dirt in.

Because the pump won't be able to pump it. There is a lot of science behind oils much too much to go into great detail.

Exactly, I'm guessing the team of engineers at Toyota know best when it comes to oil. 20 weight vs 30 weight has no practical cost difference between them so I'd assume they chose the one that offers the best overall performance. It's not like many other components where the engineers clearly took a more cost effective route to save a few bucks in manufacturing and service.
