Gotta pay the bills. That's the shitty side of the job. Don't get to enjoy holidays like most people do. I'd love to leave the company and I've looked but the benefits are too good.

Yeah good benefits is a deal breaker for me for most jobs I look. I laugh at companies that mention they offer health plans now  like they have a choice

Yeah I was hired by a local HVAC company in February and I wanted the job badly. I would have walked away from health care and dental for the family, a 401k match, 4 weeks paid vacation as well as other extras. Would have been too great of a pay cut to take. Hell my health care cost would have doubled.

I'm a teacher in a good district in California. We work 186 days and are given 10 sick days a year that roll over each year and that will travel with you if you change districts. We get a week for Thanksgiving, 2 weeks for Christmas, and a week for Easter. We also get every government holiday and 4 student free days.

This is for real. I started a new job last year. Due to value of benefits at Big Giant Evil Corp, I needed about a 20% raise just to break even on retirement and health care. Then something more, to make it worth the risk. I love working for a small, family-friendly business, without all the corporate BS. But I wish I had more vacation days...

I owned a 2013 EB, it could easily get 25 mpg.

    What is this sorcery?

Tacoma is still selling a lot more than the GM twins. I wonder if Colorado/Canyon production is at capacity yet. GM was right about the mid-size market having strong demand though. Silverado/Sierra sales are up this year even with the smaller truck they are offering. GM selling WAY more trucks than Ford now.

    Took my son's car to a Ford dealer a few days ago for routine maintenance . . . While waiting, I walked the lot . . . They had F150s priced from 42,000 to 60,000 plus . . . .

    . . . . At those prices, the mid-sizable truck market should be booming for a long time . . ..

Even though mid-size trucks are getting into $40k territory, you have a point. Truck prices are insane now.

I have a hard time paying the price for a brand new Tacoma much less 40-60k for a full size.

I was at the local Ford dealer awhile ago and a nice black F250 caught my eye. That is until I saw the MSRP of over $80k. It was a special edition Tuscany Black Ops. Beautiful truck, but until I win the Lotto just a little too rich for me.

    This is not a troll.

Toyota shuts down TMMTX - Toyota Motor Mfg. Texas in late July/early August every year for one week.

Reason - plant maintenance. Employees go on vacation for that week. Most of them.

    TMMTX builds the Tundra/ Tacoma.

TMMTX is closed this week. Opens again next Monday.

Reason for this years week-long closure.....

Gearing up for mfg. of 2016 Tacoma.

Be patient - 1st shift at TMMTX being at 6am next Monday.

I was at a local Ford dealership recently too.

Had a XTR extra cab 4x4 for $40,000 after the employee discount.

A new TRD Sport is 37,000.
    Sport with leather is 39,500
    Limited is 40,000.

Seems like they are direct competitors to me.
