I know!!!!!!!! Like what are these people thinking? A guy in a Subaru WRX (no chains) passed me going down the 18, 10 minutes later I saw him in the guardrail.

I don't know if I would call it confidence. I guess maybe a little. It's more of a peace of mind thing. :)

I was in 4Hi going down the 18 just for the added stability and I never slipped at all in the snow. It was great. :D

It was also awesome to drive by the CHP checkpoint for chains.

Chains are such a hassle! I have them in the back though just in case I needed them for anything.

The one thing I will say is that when I drove a Impreza, I didnt feel almost any difference in traction in the rain compared to dry, unless you are truly pushing your limits/luck. I just heard Saddleback has snow? Can anyone confirm/deny?

    No sir I have not,
But I grew up in Maine, where 16" over night only meant I had to wake up 30 minutes earlier to shovel snow. And when I drove to school I had to drive fast so I didn't get bogged down, because I lived so far out in the woods our roads didn't get plowed before 9am!

    Chains are a joke here!
    silly socal

True story. Sat for 3 Hours on HWY 38 trying to get home from big bear because a 2WD dodge towing a trailer ended up in a ditch and caused a couple other cars to get stuck.

x1000000 we got a good 12-16" last night. i went to the store and drove it the worst nasty unplowed roads (to avoid idots with chains on the main road) and never needed 4wd. 2 wheel all the way.

chains are an absolute joke. but when you see the rehtards that have never driven in snow even with chains they get into accidents.... ive seen prerunners with chains on the front so nothing surprises me.

Us northerners laugh at anything less than 2'
