Line X is pretty flexible actually. I've felt some samples that were just the product itself (not bonded to anything) and it's very flexible. Cracking shouldn't be a concern.

^^That green is nice. If they can match it, it would look pretty similar since that truck is flat paint.

i have a friend who did this to an offroad truck, he hates it he said that you have to pressure wash it all the time, he said its like glue to dirt. idk if you would really care about it being dirty if you were willing to rubberize the entire truck but its a thought. you may be adding maintenance. and after 5 years of use/abuse my trucks paint has seen better days as well.

I have heard that mud is hard to get rid of, but honestly a little dirt adds charactor. Also if its his trail rig I am guessing that he isn't just getting it a little dirty while trail riding, he's probably coming home completely caked over.

Bonner can you weigh in on this?

Yeah i wash mine about 2-3 times a year... saturday was the 2nd time this year for me. if you do this to your truck it will most likely be for trail reasons so you dont care. i like the look of dirt on it. its not like your worried about the dirt scratching your paint:)

I will say the dirt does stick to it but use a broom type brush for washing cars (not sure what that is called) and a hose and soap bucket and it cleans up just like any other car. if you only pressure wash it you will get uneven cleaning and it will show once dry. you HAVE to use a brush but who cares...i only do it a couple times a year so when i do i spend some time with it. It really doesnt take that much to clean. its just like any other vehicle except that you need to use the brush.

Trust me on this....I've had my truck like this for over 2 years

edit: Oh and another thing about this stuff is that when you get the pinstriping marks from going through the brush, they wear away and you cant tell it ever happened. not sure how the linex does going through a 4 wheeler trail. i wonder if anyone with linex has actually went through brush covered 4 wheeler trails coming out with slight pinstriping and how well it fared?

okay i got my line-x dealer to price it out

3k-4k for the black linex on my truck

much higher for colored because they legally have to sell it as a paint rather than a bed coating

do light grey, then you will never have to wash it.
i have my front and rear bumpers linexed, and my side steps.
they are black, but they hardly ever look black, it hold dust.
there is nothing i hate more than cleaning a truck, that is why
i did not want black rims. i think in like 3 or 4 years when the linex looks
really faded, i am going to paint it to match my truck, light grey, so it
won't look brown from dust all the time.

Here's what Olive drap line x looks like on a FJ, I think it looks good. I am really thinking about doing this in this color or indigo ink.

that line-x red truck is sick!!

BTW it weights about 40lbs when they do the bed and that's at about 1/4" thick. If they do your whole truck it's going to be less then 1/4" b/c of clearances so it shouldn't weight a lot in retrospec, prolly 100-150lb for the whole truck.

The guy who Line-Xed the FJ said that the out the door price was ~3300 But that it was initially closer to 2800 before he started nit-picking and having the guys at the shop do a lot of extra stuff.

Also I started thinking that if I want a scooped hood now would be the time seeing as how 1/2 the cost of going with a Certi-fit hood is the paint...
