Lets put it this way if Japan goes down the US takes a gigantic hit economically. iIf simply helping a country in need isnt a good enough incentive then do it for the sake of the US as well.......and if anyone is going to argue that trade between the US and Japan is not relevant then your seriously lost. We need all the trade we can get.

 

Assist in Japan efforts, concentrate on American relief.
American is spread a little thin in Humanitarian efforts elsewhere, it's time to really concentrate on the home front, face it our infrastructure/economy/liberty are a bit weak right now.
Let's help out an alley, but put the effort in America and disaster relief first.

 

if you donate to anything make sure its the redcross that way you know where the money is going but remember japan is avery rich country if you got some extra coin maybe put it into your local community (america)

 

Shoot I'm thinking every country needs to be prayed for, seems like we're all screwed in some way lately.

 

Wouldn't hurt to donate to japan. Also wouldn't hurt to then focus on our issues right here at home. No reason we can't do both.

 

We all could learn a lot from what is going on in Japan. Do you see any riots? Looting? Fighting? Protesting? Nope. These people are in a huge crisis and you don't see any of that going on. People are waiting in line at gas stations and aid stations for hours on end. They understand when supplies run out and don't fight about it. If that happened here in America there would be anarchy.

Like I said before, if you don't want to donate then don't. Why piss all over this guys thread? Go make a "Don't donate to anyone other than myself" thread or an "I don't care about anything unless its in my back yard" thread.

Humanitarian relief is in Americas best interest, but without the realization we need dire assistance within our own borders.

Lets stay on topic guys, this member is trying to get something going for nation in distress. Its the least he can do probably. If I could I'd head over and assist personally, unfortunately I can't.

Its been stated that we helped them after the bombs, and that they helped us during our issues. If this turns into a political debate its gonna get locked, lets not be the cause of an innocent members idea to help out go to shit because of our own ideology's and opinions. That is all.
