each side can move independent of the other so it would still work on uneven ground.

Just uses the strap to keep it from opening up. Really cool idea.

Got another rotopax mounted on the other side door as well as a couple of dedicated action packer containers.

Also got the trailer mounting of the Maxtrax done.

Awesome build! I'm in the mix of designing my own 4x6 right now. Already have the stove/oven, water tank, water heater, electrical panel and even a small furnace. All from a guy parting out a lance cab over camper. What was the Axel length you went with or hub face to hub face measurement? I didn't see it mentioned in this thread.

    Welcome to TW!

    65" wms-wms.
Keep in mind that I picked my axle length based on my truck (which is far from a normal 1st gen). My front suspension wms-wms is 7" wider than a stock 1st gen and my rear axle is 6" wider than a stock 1st gen.

Well the trailer got a bit of an upgrade today. New Tepui Kukenam XL Ruggedized RTT. This thing is soooooooo nice. Fit and finish is definitely noticeable over the standard models. And its HUGE. I can lay comfortably width-wise. It easily will fit the wife and I plus both boys without a problem.
It's not light by any means. A bit over 200 lbs, but folded up it's the same dimensions as the main trailer box (4'x6'). And the orange on black is just . One step closer to Moab!

I was a bit apprehensive about it to be honest. But once you see it in person, it is perfect. Will be easy to spot at camp whilst being drunk. :drunk:

I think the orange is badass. stands out. not that the trailer wont attract peoples attention anyways.

Jason how tall is door for the tent? u said it was fairly low compared to an rtf on a bedrock. looks to be alot easier to fall out of eerrrrrrr climb down out of:D

Bottom of the door is exactly 5 feet. Just high enough to be off the ground and out of the elements, yet low enough to keep COG low and the sound of piss hitting the ground below isn't terribly loud.

    Build thread in sig...
I really like the bright tent. I often camp along trails, or in the middle of nowhere, where there are no designated camp sites. While encountering other vehicles is mostly rare at night, my biggest fear is always that with my earth-tone tent, that someone will come up quick on my camp without seeing me and hit me. A bright blue truck always helps, so I try to set u near to it, but a tent like that is definitely a huge step forward from a safety standpoint.

Definitely a great point. I had the camo tent to start with as the colors matched the black/bronze/tan thing I've got going on...and it was just an impulse buy to get on the GB Jerry had. Hindsight being 50:50 the camo is the wrong color.
Either way, it all worked out in the end. The camo tent has a proud new owner who got better than GB pricing, and I still got a few uses out of it.
