Found a decent price on a 3500# axle yet? What did the 6 lug brake hubs run?

Yes P3...not T3. Jack wasn't allowing me to think strait.
I'm fully aware of the charge line. I had dual deep cycles in my old toy hauler. With a 10 gauge wire it was able to keep the batteries maintained and slighly charge if I drove any distance. I've got a couple tricks up my sleeve for campside charging depending on the situation.

Yeah the axle will be here Friday, just coming from the East Coast.
I splurged a little on the brakes. I got Dexter brake hubs with EZ Lube caps. They were $65 each. Also got the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust brake assemblies that were $45 each.

 You mean I may find something and not have to double the price to ship it from over there on your side of the country? Not a bad price. Supplier?

Jason...I can get you relatively inexpensive solar panels to keep those puppies charged if that's a route you're considering.
Ive been interested in a project similar to this...been looking at the military trailers to upgrade.
    Looks good so far.

For the actual axles check out TrailerPartsDepot.
    http://www.trailerpartsdepot.com/items.asp?Cc=AXLE&Bc=&parts=Axles

American manufactured axles with Super Lube spindles. And they had the exact tract width I was looking for. Sign up for an account and you'll get the redline prices.

For pretty much everything else check out etrailer.com.
Great prices and free shipping for any order of $150

Solar panels eh? You mind sending me details.

LOTS of wiring, dual battery setup, Solar charging system, with some random lights spread around here and there.
Solar panels.......take a look at the Harbor Freight panels. I got the 45w kit and made a roof rack and they are great for keeping the panels charged.

    Rear bumper is done.
2x3x1/8" rectangle tube with a 2.5x2.5x.25" receiver tube welded into the frame.
1/4" plate to gusset the bottom and 4" triangle gussets on top.
Pin for the hole incognito behind the frame.

By law I of course have to have them...on-road. That said my plan is to weld in a safety chain loop to the tongue and have the safety chains connect using a quick link so I can remove them easily and not have them rattling around while off-road.

    Quick Link:

I have no idea about where you are at, but in washington, to get your trailer past inspection the law is that we can't weld the safety chains at all, for mounting or anything. I just put a huge bolt through the frame with a chain on each side. It may be different for you.

The chain won't be welded. The loop/clip will be. Such as this:
    http://www.easternmarine.com/buyers-1-2-safety-chain-clip-sc50b

This is how both my flatbed trailer and my utility trailer have their chains attached. :notsure:

LOL. That would be some expensive safety chains!

Easy enough to find out what's required. In CA, it just says "securely affixed". My trailer has threaded rod welded to the tongue and the cable attaches to that. It says the chain cannot allow the tongue to hit the ground if it comes off. Trailers in excess of 1500#'s need a break-away switch as well (activate brakes when trailer separates).

Sub'd for ideas for building my own. I have an idea of a 5x8 tailer for my Grizzly with a rack on top of it for a RTT. Wouldn't be an expo type trailer per say, but I'm just gathering ideas now.
