Maybe I missed it, but I have a couple questions regarding the jbl. What are the specs on the jbl system? Particularly amp wattage and subwoofer size. How many subs are in the back and finally, is each door speaker also upgraded? I have yet to see a taco with the jbl and ordered it in my new one. Thanks!

The one thing I forgot to do when I test drove a TRD OR AC was listen to the stereo, Im stuck with it regardless, but I need a little bottom end. That's the only thing Im kinda stressed about til I get my truck-wondering how bad its gonna sound without a sub.

Don't know the specs, but the 6 speakers are all JBL. There is one sub.

I would not have accepted my truck without the JBL System. That said, a vehicle's cabin is not the ideal place to judge audio from. Unless you are driving a VERY quiet Maybach or Audi S8 LOL..or listening to music at 85db SPL of sound pressure which will deteriorate the sound stage and one's hearing rather quickly

The Signal to noise ratio is just too high and if one turns the volume up to accommodate, the track's far too loud to enjoy without hearing damage risk. When mixed in the studio low volumes and smaller monitors are used to avoid "ear fatigue" They are not mixed on 2000 Watt Systems.

IMO A lot of Car Audio is a rip off..Loud sells. Loud wins audio competitions Loud Bass sells even more....accuracy does not matter.

Some of the best guitar tones come from the smallest tube amps. When I was an IATSE Stage Hand and worked a lot of touring rock concerts in the late 70's Many times the guitar amps on the stage were props. A small miked tube amp below the stage was miked and hooked up to the guitarist's rig

The better the system sounds and recreates frequencies from 30K-18KHZ at lower volumes the better the system is. Toyota's system with the Sub is good enough for the environment it is designed for . The law of diminishing returns with more money spent is alive and well in the car audio field

I had a 2011 Sport with a JBL system and it was OK, not great for me. So this time around I opted out of the JBL but I have NAVI. I recently swapped out all the stock speakers with Alpine components front and rear, 5 x 100W Alpine 5 channel amp under the driver seat, and a 8" Alpine sub behind the driver rear passenger. JBL sucks compared to my set up.

You can't get JBL in the AC. I had no choice but to accept it.

am old; happy with stock. i find it comparable to the bose system from my 2004 pathfinder, which I was content with for 12 years.

Do you just copy this out of the BMW marketing brochure? Why?

Seemed like an adequate way to describe the sound system. If someone has already described it, copying and pasting that description is much easier than describing it from scratch.

As to why I described it at all, it was in response to the statement that all car stereo systems from the factory are bad and any after market system would be a better option. That's simply not the case. There are really good car stereo systems from factories.

Great thank you. Does anyone know if it is the same system used in the last gen Taco?

It is different and those who had the previous gen Tacoma with JBL are reporting that the 16 JBL is a huge improvement.

its shows the sizes in mm but a simple conversion should be all you need to get an idea

edit: actually...i can't confirm whether this is for the '16...looks like '15.

Yeah, I was hoping to hear from someone like 408Taco that has replaced the factory speakers and can tell me what fits and what "can fit".

Anyone having their driver side door window controls making a vibrating sound with music that has deep bass? I can get it to stop if I put my fingers on the back 2 window control buttons. Very few songs can really make it annoying with the vibration :(.

I don't see the dealership making it better with replacement buttons either.
