I am in the process of installing an aftermarket amp, sub and head unit.

I have all the wires ran from the back to the dash so the point i am at now is wiring up the head unit. My question: Is there a diagram or instruction anywhere that shows what wires go to what when it comes to the factory wiring harness? I figured i would have to wire this up by hand rather than using a harness adapter, i heard there was issues with the JBL when it comes to using a wiring harness and you had to start fresh to get around it. Is that true or can i just get a harness adapter and plug it in and go?

Sorry if this has been discussed, ive been searching stuff all day and just wanted to have a conversation.

    Thanks!

    i picked this up,

    Metra 70-8113 Amplifier Integration Harness
    http://images2.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageHandler/trim/555/312/products/2014/49/120/h120708113-F.jpg

Sub and amp are kicking hard but my front and rear speakers are not working anymore.

Guessing this has something to do with the JBL crap?

I removed everything JBL related except the head unit wiring harness, that plus what i bought is the current setup with no sound to the fronts and sides.

I still have pac tato that i was using before i decided to replace the sub, i was thinking that might still work if i just cut the remote wire and hook it up the new new head unit.

From everything ive read it seems like you just cant use the jbl sides and fronts ect with anything other than the stock amp? something about the signals being different? No idea why they built it this way if thats the case.

Thanks man! I wonder if that will also work with a 2008? The site says 2012 + but one would think there would be a 2008 version as well.

I would check with Crux directly, their customer service is top notch. Crutchfield is a great place to purchase it, but they told me it wouldn't work on a JBL equipped system...

Thanks man! Reading their site now.

I've pretty much conceded to the fact that im going to just replace all of the door speakers, since i will need to order ********* door adapters i went ahead and tossed my alpine 6x9s in some boxes along with my subs that i will replace as well with 10's that will fit behind the seat but for now its hitting hard in my Tacoma. Looks unfinished but all the hard parts are over regarding the wiring of the amp/sub ect so it will be almost plug and play once i get the rest of the gear i need.

Funny how 2 alpine 6x9's sound better than the entire JBL system.
