    Not for me , I'm a carpenter and installing it myself , but I would imagine the material is cheaper here where I am surrounded by cedar trees .

    The aromatic cedar is actually juniper , and quite a bit more expensive than western red cedar boards .

    I did a whole walk in closet with juniper wainscoting for a client , it was nice but always reminds me of the smell of hamster bedding .

    I would tend to agree with you. We just removed a 20yo redwood deck this past summer and replaced it with a PA flagstone patio. I will never have a wood deck again. Maybe a plastic composit deck but the jury is still out on them.
