Butthurt much? You're the one who made the snide remark about being practical. I just pointed out the hypocrisy/silliness/irony of your argument - that impractical hood scoop. Nothing personal. Take a deep breath, it'll be alright. Have a nice day and carry on.

So butt hurt, oh dear God the pain.

How is saying something is impractical, a snide remark?

Did I hurt your butt? Did you get dusty on the trail, because you left your doors at home?

I'll continue my breathing exercises and hopefully we can bot get through this tough time.

In the meantime, how about you look up the definitions of snide, hypocrisy and irony, because I don't think they mean what you think they mean.... but, when in Rome, right?

Looks like a fair amount of leg room in the back seat, overall for length it’s a couple of inches shorter than the Tacoma DBCLB
Next year when the TFL does a head to head with the Pro , ZR2, Ranger and the Gladiator it will be interesting.

TFL will rate gladiator the best. The Chevy or Ford second and the Tacoma last.

Has the 3.6L Pentastar been reliable so far? High mileage ones? Known problems?

So far it has been proven reliable. It's FCAs workhorse and can be found in everything from Wranglers, Rams, Chargers, Challengers, Caravans for the past 5ish years or more. Honestly, I'd take one over the 3.5L in my truck any day of the week. However, I'd still be hesitant about the reliability of the rest of the truck. Many people have zero issues with FCA products while it's the exact opposite for others. IDK, overall seems at least to be a mixed bag but not to the point that it would scare me away.

There are a ton of engineers I work with who all drive bro'd out Wranglers that rarely leave the pavement who will have no issue forking out the $$ for this thing.

As far as Tacoma fans go we should be happy, competition is good and hopefully it is making Toyota a little nervous.

(I know nothing about Jeeps, or American vehicles, except for the fact that I would love to own the Gladiator)..... If the engine is reliable, what other parts of the truck would you say might be unreliable? My thought process was as long as engine/trans was good, rest of it should be a simple enough truck.

    Appreciate the info.

Like I said, it's a mixed bag, but some of the issues I've seen first hand and have heard that were not so uncommon (on the JK at least) were electrical like disconnecting anti-roll bar mechanism failing, random dash lights, HVAC issues, infotainment regularly freezing/restarting, or a tempermental heater; also leaky top and a shaky/fluttering hood seemed to be common. Nothing huge, but it's easy to get upset about considering what they cost and can happen when the vehicle is pretty new. Also, little things like general poor on road driving dynamics, loud interior, and rattles; but it's a Wrangler, if you want a quiet and smooth on road vehicle get something different. The JL supposedly addressed a lot of the faults the JK had, but considering it's so new Jeep probably has a slew of other new issues they have yet to tamp out just like Toyota had to with 3rd gens when they were released.

Not saying it does. Was responding to someone who suggested the Rubicon is only for hardcore off roaders. Its not and I'm totally ok with that. Which is why Toyota needs to step it up.

For sure. If I had the money I'd totally be crosshopping the Rubicon Gladiator with everything from a Tacoma TRD pro to a Raptor... no doubt.

Agreed, hell I would like to own all of them, outfitted/upgraded and beat the hell out of them. Isn't that what we like to do? See you on the trails.

This is why I like Jeeps, I did this to 4 of them. Would hate it if this happened to my Tacoma.

We turn Jeeps into these after we roll them.
