One company I really don't understand how they are still making cars. They really take the cake on making crap. Chrysler is cheap. they use cheap, inferior, OE parts. Largely known for transmission failures and the only thing you can replace it with...is another crappy Chrysler transmission. No brand creates engine condensation residue like I see in Chrysler.

They haven't gotten any better recently. Look in a car magazine. "The 2007 Sebring: Cooling and Transmission problems." 2 great areas to have problems in there fellas.

I would never risk my money on a Chrysler vehicle, even if it was the coolest, most badass offroad machine ever made. And "Hemi"..what a crock. Really? You got a hemi? I'm totally impressed by the design name of your combustion chamber.

Only good thing they may have possibly done was give us the 4.0 inline 6 cylinder engine.

    a lot!
Personally, I think Jeeps are hit and miss. My family has had very good luck with Jeeps. 4 Cherokee's have had 250,000+ on them and the 5th was a wrangler that I traded in when it was just over 100,000. No issues at all with them......

Jeeps were good till Chrysler took over. My friend has a 05 Rubicon Wrangler its a fucking beast, it had a previous owner. He wheels it hard and yeah it has its problems but what to you expect when you wheel a rig hard and use it as a daily? For mods he has a 6" short arm lift with 35" KM2s.

I had a 1975.5 Jeep Cherokee Chief (when Jeep was owned by American Motors), and nearly everything failed on it in the 2 years I had it... This was NEW, from summer of '75 to '77...

When it wasn't in the shop, it was great... I could take it anywhere, had Quadra-Trac full time 4WD with low range and center differential locker, 401 V-8, automatic... but failures began, from water pump failure to transmission failure to window handles breaking to carburator issues... not right for a new truck...

The Chief package mated the large Cherokee (2 door Wagoneer) body to the J-10 Jeep truck frame with its wider track... sweet!

But, things were not better at AMC (1970-1986) than it is with Chrysler... Now, go back to the mid 60's when it was Kaiser-Jeep Corporation... That was some good stuff... family had a '65 Wagoneer... went all over Baja and the desert with that!

A buddy of mine has a 95 grand cherokee with 318 V8, fulltime 4wd. He is currently setting it up for rockcrawling, will be interesting how it turns out. Back when it was his only vehicle he had a 3 inch lift and 31 inch tires on it. We used to take it to the Pismo dunes (10 mins drive) almost every weekend. Drive to beach, air down to 5 psi, haul ass! Cruise control, AC and comfy leather seats on the ride home. The only thing stock or close to stock that could outrun that jeep in the dunes was a first gen tacoma (new at the time). We think it was mostly a weight advantage. But that jeep was savagely beaten, and never broke down.

Our 04 was a good vehicle, but we only kept it until 60k. The 2005 to 2010 models were plagued by transmission failures. This prevented us from purchasing another Jeep.

The Grand Cherokee has always had rather solid write ups in any incarnation. The one just previous to this years was without a doubt the shittiest. I think it's 2005-2010. Interior isn't bad but some of the pieces are like...why?
My Father in law has a 2009 with the 3.0L Diesel. You'd never know that thing was a diesel until you went to fill it. Wicked engine. Gotta love having 376ft/lbs of torque out of that little thing. :D

I've seen one of those diesel jeeps. Kinda throws you for a loop when you open the hood.

Hey guys....well I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Limited Edition with a 4 inch suspension life and 3 inch body with 39's.................. she is fun to drive cause it has all the luxuries....... leather heated/power seats, heated power mirrors, V8, stock boss stereo with amp and sub, sun roof. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my Tacoma. The jeep has its problems but I can't damage my taco.........the jeep she was bought with scratches on ever panel and was used one year when i had a civic as a winter truck.......... Jeeps are good but if I had a choice i am sure i would take a tacoma/4 runner for reliability

    just my two cents :)

Not bad. Father in Law never really laid down the hammer on the skinny pedal so I have no idea, but what I do know is that you will never notice you're pulling anything on the hitch with all that torque. :D

    Nice little read on them.
