    The final sentence of their report of the day said "Radical Hill Trail is clear, the debris field was removed and USFS and Sheriff were notified the issue has been resolved."

    It worked out well for the recovery team that they had that one switchback directly above the Jeep on which to stage. Even if they hadn't, I'm sure they would have devised a plan. I really need to go through the recovery course they use. The one course I attended five years ago didn't go into as much depth as theirs does.

    Second hand information from someone who ran Radical Hill after this unfortunately incident stated the trail was not damaged where the Jeep slid off. The observation was that the driver did not stay far enough over/away from the edge.

    Man, that lower section must of been fun dragging the wreck over. Guess the walkers would be needed to be constantly picking up parts.

    I've done this myself... a kinetic rope/strap is mandatory. Even with one, you can still damage attachment points because there's only so much stretch to one.
