Is the Yoke fitting in this case also the zert fitting thing that the grease goes into?
Sorry, trying to get it all straight here..

7 year thread revival FTW. Grease all of your ujoints until they purge out the new grease, the slip yoke has the same zerk fitting as well, but you do not have the ability to purge this like the u joint. A few good pumps of some NLGI-2 w/ moly is what I use.

Thanks! That helps, it helps NOW, in 2019 ~ therefore I don't see the relevance of focusing on the calendar. Car poblems do not expire. Nor do their solutions. Thank you for your help ♡

sometimes if the u-joint is old it just wont unbind. You might have to take the drive shaft off the truck and phsyically manipulate the u-joints through a full motion and grease them.
I put a set of $35 overloads on the rear of my 96 4X4 and that solved the clunk/bump. I figuered that for $35 Ill take the chance.

Brie, while this is true, when you reply to a post that has not been looked at or modified for many years, getting a response from the person is unlikely.

You can see if the person is still active by looking at their profile (click on their username):
hossmaster was last seen: Oct 4, 2018

chances are this person wouldn't respond. Most won't have a problem with you starting a new thread after you've searched the forum (and you've clearly done research, woot). It will then make a more recent post that could be current and relevant (could even post a few of the links from your search in your post)

anywho, keep on learning, never enough info out there, I like learning something about the truck as often as I can :)

Thanks Frizz, you're right about the OP possibly not being the one who responds, and I'm perfectly ok with that ;)
Although irrelevant, my reasoning is that, (besides my organized nature and dislike for redundant, non-consolidation) I think I may have a better chance getting replies when I side bust on an already present post, so previous commentors who are already knowledgeable on the subject get notified, even if they are put off by the date. It has seemed to work thus far.
Thanks to this post, and the specific brains contained therein, I think I have got my jerking truck problem fixed! (This topic of "jerking" is so tempting to leave an inappropriate comment right about now, but I'll have you know I'm exercising mad control to be a lady! ..it's hard being a girl!)
Thanks, all you genius men you! ♡
