Hi, I am DL850 and the newest member of the Taco community. I need to replace both front wheel bearings on a 2005 Tacoma 4x4 and wanted to do this work myself in order to save big bucks. I have checked Bluepit bearing website and understand they use original Toyota parts on their complete units. There is also a Jersey Built hub that offers the complete unit but use the Timken bearing for 100.00 less per wheel. My question is has anyone had any dealings with either company?? Thanks in advance for any help in this matter. I want to get the best assembly possible without overpaying for equal quality..

I used Jersey - quality parts - I certainly wouldn't spend $100 extra per wheel - no need for that at all. Job is pretty easy if you have any mechanical ability and the needed tools. I'm sure Bama is good to but I live in Jersey so figured support the local guy.

Neither one uses OEM wheel hubs; they use cheap $30 Dorman hubs. I'm not saying they sell a defective product; only pointing out they don't use ALL OEM parts.

I've used Dorman's myself but currently have Dura hub and bearings (#29596058) as they sell a kit and I don't have to worry about the parts being separated during shipment.
