    NOT THE ENDS!!!

    Just inside with an acid brush, then I carefully wipe off any on the ends and/or outside.

    I mix with rubbing alcohol and brush inside. I dont pay too much attention to width, just enough to keep the inside of the weld pure.

    I keep my Solarflux in a little Tupperware and just add alcohol as needed to keep my desired consistency.

    Yep! I think its 91% rubbing alcohol from Wallyworld.

    Acetone is the standard.

    Here are some pics hoping to explain why it takes me so much time to fabricate each one.

    This is the tube that goes under the trans. Below my thumb is my reference line (jig).
    Notice the tubing has a slight upward angle?

    This required changing the angle of the 45° mandrel bend slightly by sanding in order for the tubing to lay flat against the jig while being able to fusion butt weld.

    Getting each joint perfectly prepped and oriented is the difficult part.
    Lengths and angles need to be manipulated slightly with each joint to get them where I want them.
    This is why no two y-pipes are exactly the same.

    Here I'm starting to route the tubing where it goes up and over the crossmember.

    I do my best to fusion weld every joint which means there cannot be any gap between the joints.
