This is what I came up with, a bit wild but the twins will love it. I hope! To make a JFR y-pipe for the 3rd gens would require the proper calculations for the 3.5 just like you did for the 4.0 and some trial and error until it’s right. Don’t have a clue where to start with the design part. That would be the first step!

Thank you! I did. I made a thread for it in the 3rd gen section. I think it sounds pretty good. Haven’t heard too many other setups to compared it to though. There’s a couple of videos in there. I should have put it in the performance section.

Have there been any performance comparisons between your pipe and the URD y pipe?
I know that is slightly taboo but I have had the URD y pipe with mixed feelings, worked better on stock headers than on my AFE shorties. Changing headers back out was not an option.
I have tried several exhaust combinations and settled on my current setup (AFE shorties/Stock Y with weld AFR bung @ collector to get both banks/stock muffler with vibrant resonator welded in)
Currently my stock aluminized muffler has rusted out and i am re-evaluating my exhaust system, y pipe is included as the bolted extension on the right bank is looking really rough.
My Tacoma is no longer my tow rig so low end losses are not as significant
Any input?

You would benefit from this........read the original post from how his idea started for this pipe. It started because of URD’s pipe had deficiencies that were pointed out to him (Gadget) and he didn’t want to listen. So then Roosty made his own. Rest is history......
