I enjoy it a lot and think it’s probably as good as a v6 is gonna get in terms of the sound department

I'm okay with loud. I have a Harley built to be loud. My current setup is very similar to @Murphinators and sounds very similar to his in the clips at low rpm cruising.

More so I'm hoping the JFR ypipe takes care of the rasp I hear about with urd longtubes. I dont plan on running a resonator. Just the single cat

It should eliminate the rasp. Drone is another thing entirely.
I will be loud with no res for sure.

    Hey all!
I usually don’t sit down to read, but after reading the 40 Pages about Roost’s Y-Pipe and then seeing another 58 Pages about it. I just have to say that the fact you make this out of your garage is amazing. Your attention to detail looks stellar and the product is just top notch!
I had a local person who did stunning stainless exhaust work for me on previous vehicles (300zx TT, Audi TT, Nissan Frontier) and I was at a loss when he had moved back west a few years ago.
After seeing what you’re capable of doing, I am selling off as much as I can that I don’t need to get on your list ASAP!
Also, after reading thru all the comments, this looks like a great community forum!

You’re very welcome @Roostfactor ! I love to mod every vehicle I get my hands on. My 300ZX and 4Runner being my 2 favorites thus far.
Where I work, they’re all about V8’s or bust it seems like. So anytime I can dive into a robust V6 and show them something they never expected, I always get a good laugh from it. Whether it be the VG30DETT of the Z, or the 3.2L V6 in my old TT, it’s always fun to unlock their full potential.
I just got the Magnaflow 15584 for the 4Runner yesterday afternoon and will be installing it tomorrow morning. I am curious to see what kind of a difference that setup makes in throttle response/drone and overall sound of the 4.0. After reading people saying the rasp got eliminated with your y-pipe, and it producing a more smooth/mellow tone, I was instantly intrigued.
When reading thru almost 100 pages of your Y-Pipe, I was quite shocked when you showed a stock cut up Y-Pipe and how horrifically restrictive it was. Now I just need to use the ol “It will increase my MPG’s!” line on the wife and get the money to get this mod lol.
Your backlog just proves you make an amazing product, and with the 4Runner I want to stick with the route of “Buy it nice or buy it twice” and “Cheap stuff ain’t good and good stuff ain't cheap” lol
Any-who, hope you all are having a great Friday night and I can’t wait to be a customer of your custom fab work!

    ~Brandon

@Konq315, Still sounds and performs as sweet as it did when I drove away from @Roostfactor casa that cold winter night....you won't be disappointed.

So I have a question for anyone that can chime in. I put the Magnaflow 15584 Exhaust on this last weekend. Great sound, minimal drone, only semi loud when you get on it.
For those of you that put the Y-Pipe on and added the Magnaflow highflow cat to the build, how much of a DB increase, if any, did you guys experience?
I only ask as it is my DD and I don’t want to be waking up the neighborhood lol.

Are you going to install headers or keep the stock exhaust manifolds?

I am going to run the stock manifold for the time being.

Never argue with an insane person. 30 day ban gave me lots of time to study for my Power plant written test. I have my Airframe done. 9 weeks and I'm an A&P. No work done on the truck. I need to fabricate my rear section. I want it tucked up as much as possible. Maybe an S bend with a 4.5" rise would do the trick.

I gotta ask.....just curious, not to drum up anything. What subject were you guys disagreeing about that led to your heated exchange which in turn led to your ban?

Sig vs Glock. I stated the facts how the US Army chose Sig because they are more reliable. The military wants reliability. Trust me I was an Infantryman. He was modifying his sights because they came from factory in typical glock configuration, out of zero.
