    Thanks for the good info.

I did reset the ECU. At first it would run a bit better then get sluggish for a few days and then get better. It just seems inconsistent. I feel like the truck doesn’t know what to do with all the premium mods I put into it.

Anyway I’m just going to pull the trigger and do the supercharger and everything you recommend. Buy once cry once! I’m tired of Nissan Leafs beating me up the mountain.

What octane fuel are you using? Sounds like the ecu is learning and possibly switching between lower octane fuel map (sluggish) and high octane (responsive) maps.
Try running super if you aren't yet and see if you notice a difference.

I have a UCON I could sell you but I would still recommend HPtuners. :D

I switched to super last week. It’s been better these past few days. I’ve probably put a tank and a half of super through the engine. Hopefully I’ll get a little more performance out of the engine. Ultimately I just need a supercharger.

I’ve been reading through this for the past 2 hours. Those y pipes look awesome @Roostfactor I’m interested in getting one made for my 4runner. I have a 17’ with the urd supercharger kit installed do you have any recommendations on sizing or anything?

    Thanks!
You are running the Godzilla Whipple?
    It depends on your goals.
Do you want as quiet as possible or more of a performance sound?
Staying with stock exhaust manifolds or are you planning on headers?

I'll be traveling back to Texas the next couple days so will be in and out of the forums.

    Thx,

    Roost

Fits nicely on a FJ as well. Roost asked me to post couple of pictures of some of the clearances around the crossmember. Here’s a couple of pictures. If anyone has an FJ or 4Runner and needs any dimensions, just let me know.

Yes Its awesome! I won’t be swapping out headers. Id like it to sound like a V8 haha maybe something like this below. I’m just worried about constantly throwing check engine lights

Roost, have you yet made any Y-pipes for the '16+'s?

Not that Roost needs it but I can also vouch for him, his customer service and most importantly the quality of his work. I had a tight schedule and Roost went above and beyond to help me out. When I got my y pipe to my friend’s garage they couldn’t keep their greasy hands off the welds. Those welds were beautiful. I mean weld porn (check their IG if you want to see sexy welds) level quality. I’ve done a lot of work to my truck and I’ve got to say the y pipe is in my top three favorite mods.

I and everyone else that has my y-pipe can tell you that it will sound nothing like the video. If you like that sound (which is totally fine), my y-pipe is not for you.

Because of the equal tuned length, the exhaust note is much more refined and smooth so it wont have that burbly sound to it.

I'm still actively testing different exhaust/muffler combos to get the exact sound I'm looking for and have some help kicking around ideas.....more to come on that down the road.

    Thanks @DocME

T4R yes, Taco no. What are you referring to? It fits perfect on both gen 1GR-FE engines.

    WOW! Thanks @808inDa503

Didn't realize the the 16+ T4R still had the 1GR. Thought it changed like the Tacoma.

Better heat retention and corrosion control but 300 series stainless is inherently good at both.

The Tacomas, 4runners, and FJ's will sound almost the same because same engine.
Yours and @elnip's may sound slightly different because you have the second gen 1gr-fe engine.
