    My GTR has a mix of stainless and titianium exhaust pieces as will the race truck once turbo charged. My taco has a mix of steel and stainless. Cost is all relative to what you wanna put in.

    @White lightning boosted bought my original y-pipe and I didnt know he had a bracket lift.
    He had to do some extensive modding of the y-pipe to make it work.

    Interesting thing I stumbled upon today while looking at a PDF of "Installation Instructions" for a Gibson catback exhaust...

    Noticed a particular picture they included in their instructions where they (at some point) chopped off the OEM muffler from the stock system and in a yellow paint pen, wrote "237.6 CFM" on it. *See attached PDF* Page 3, far right, 5th row.

    Hmm, I thought... did a quick google search and came across a few sites with some data. Here's one that had a pretty neat write up:

    Now, I have no idea what conditions or how the OEM Tacoma muffler might have been tested, but I did think it was interesting the OEM muffler appears to exceed the flow of a 3 chamber Flowmaster given the little information I've looked at.

    I have seen the muffler test but not the Gibson install instructions.

    soooo... I haven't been following this much.. But, I think my cats are about done.. Pretty sure one is knocking somehow.. sounds like a diesel... and im not positive that I don't have an exhaust leak somewhere either.. MPGs have suffered lately.. Just not generally running as well.. more noise... vibrations... No codes.. ive changed plugs and cleaned what I can clean.. But, I had planned on eventually getting headers and better exhaust eventually anyway.. and now if my cats are bad, I gotta do something.. Is this the route to go now? Im not wanting loud exhaust on the V6.. I just want to make use of whats available, and be prepared for a supercharger.. I have the HP tuner, that I have not done anything with because of these other problems, cam gears that I have not done anything with either.., and injectors for if and when I go boosted... im kinda at my whits end with the issues on this truck..

    I have tick and knock sounds.. Knocking sounds like coming from the rear cat drivers side.. Found a video on youtube that seemed very similar that was a cat knocking. ticking I cant pinpoint.... has started over the last couple months and gotten worse.. But, I cant pinpoint it, its very hard to rev the motor and be around listening to stuff by yourself..

    If you plan on getting boosted, I’d definitely do headers and a better exhaust. If you want to keep it tame, talk to a couple guys here that have put resonators or a ram muffler to quiet things down. Injectors......you don’t necessarily need them. Unless you really start moving things to the next next next level. I’m still running the TRD injectors on my setup.
