Sounds like something that was done to idiot proof things for the tards on the assembly line (no offense to the intelligent hard working assembly line workers).

Yea I got a dpdt switch too. The "rock lights switch" will turn on rock lights or reverse lights. What do you have hooked up to your dpdt and what kind of rock lights do you have?

Yea.. Toyota is more worried about switch placement than transfercase shift rails

driving lights switch on a dpdt hooked up to my hella 75s with either on or on with my high beams

rock lights are a simple on-off hooked to these

then my backup light switch will also be a on-off-on hooked to a pair of the led rock lights pointed back to either be on in reverse or on...

so for full rock lights i'll hit both rock lights and backup lights

Thanks! Unfortunately, no, I can't use the soft topper with the tool box or the bed bars. Softtopper with a different style box seems to be the best option for me right now.

Nice! On/ on with high beams is a good idea. When there's oncoming traffic all you have to do is turn off the high beams instead of flipping switches too! I like it

How do you like those rock lights? I was looking at those and another brand too. These are half the price but neither one has great pictures.

sneak peek of them in the dash.

the middle switch "off road lights" is for the lights behind the grille. right now its the only functioning switch. I need to run the wires for the fogs because I will no longer be using the stock wiring for them. and the rock lights switch will have to wait till I get rock lights, but it will also control reverse lights, so as soon as i have time I'll get that part of it wired up.

 I hate figuring out all the schematics and the wiring diagrams of what connects to what and making sure you do it without blowing fuses and catching the truck on fire.

yea it's nice driving the mountain roads at night to have the easy on of my high beams and hella driving beams...also a good way to piss off people who drive with their high beams on..haha

gave a longer description in response on my build page, but the rock lights are ok..not the best, but do the job..and nice having 10 led pods to spread around the truck

idk 10/15 maybe.. couldn't see anything.. it was 2 am, windows and mirrors were fogged up, too dark for back up camera, but I thought I knew the road well enough.

Oh haha nice. That sucks man. I always flip out when I can't see at night in reverse. I do the continuous quick head turn back and forth as I'm going about 1mph. :D
