Yea... I met with the mechanic for the lawyer last weekend. Nice guy.. understands where I'm coming from but said its a tough case. He said Toyota is usually pretty reasonable so we'll see what happens.

I've mostly been working on my newly acquired jet ski. I'll have to take some pictures to post in here.

Yea I'd be lucky if I got enough from selling the snorkel to buy a new fender. Doesn't really make sense to sell it unless I really want to get rid of it.

What's estimated cost sas. My new beater had allowed me to disable taco to enable mods. Hope everyone has free time coming up ;)

Not gonna happen. I'll buy a 4Runner to do that with before I waste any more money on this truck.

you are OUT of your MIND

you know just as well as we do that you aren't going to be doing anything crazy with your tacoma. I'd be surprised if you get skids and a bumper.

    if you're lucky...

Not necessarily josh, just hard to do it all by myself, but since I have another vehicle I use for work, I can put the time into it. My sliders sat for 3 months to install and even longer to repaint. I work long days for my pay and it's hard to find time for taco and remodeling of home, and with fena there home comes first

    sure is! lol

so ant... I've stepped my 4runner search to an older level. instead of a 3rd gen I'm thinking about a 2nd gen just because of the price range. I'd like to try to keep my build below $5 grand total.

    here's one I found on cl. for $1500 for a '95 http://jerseyshore.craigslist.org/cto/2949188266.html

and i found another for $2000 obo for a '91

do you know anything about those model years?

    heres an '87 http://jerseyshore.craigslist.org/cto/2903287433.html

yea i think both 2nd gens i was looking at have the 3.slow v6.

the 87 has the 22re which I've heard a lot of great things about, but it has over 200k miles so idk if it would need to be rebuilt or something. definitely not something I know how to do lol.

I think it would be great to have a solid front axle, but it seems like a huge expense to do the swap.

The more I look at stuff the more I feel like I really don't need to get involved in something like this and should save my money for a house...

if I remember correctly they all had 3rd gen 4r's, which is what i was originally planning on buying, but they are $5-10k and I can find a 2nd or 1st gen for $1-3k

the only thing I know for sure is that I should really quit wheeling and learn to save $

    ... but thats no fun!!

never done a spot of welding in my life, but I do think it would be awesome to use a sas project to learn how to weld. I also don't have a useable garage, so I'd be doing all the work in the driveway.

I keep coming back to this 4r.. looks like it would be a ton of fun and i like that the top can come off
