Just ordered 1/8" brass splice and 1/4" brass splice so I can extend my transmission breather and transfercase breather.

Winch and front diff actuator will be here tomorrow.

so my winch and front diff actuator both showed up today.

but... the actuator is fucked up.. the spot where the electrical connection plugs in is broken... wtf....

yea but the motor and contacts and shit are mounted in the cover, so that means my old cover is shot.

I'm going to call the dealership I ordered it from tomorrow and give them an ear full. I'm hoping they'll be able to overnight one to me and I'll mail this one back in the mean time. I ordered a front diff drain plug from my local dealer and figured I'll have a nut welded on it to make it easier to change the fluids in the future, so I guess the smart thing to do would be to wait until I have the plug before I install the new actuator. But I'm also thinking my diff fluid isnt that old.. I could probably collect it in a clean container and re use it, then when I get the nut welded on the spare drain plug I can change the fluid and use the new drain plug...

    Thanks man.

So I called the dealership that I ordered my actuator from. The parts guy was really helpful compared to every other Toyota employee I've ever met.

New actuator is going to be here Tuesday, so this delays my 4x4 by another weekend..

    Note to self:

Winch uses 2 gauge wire. West marine has black and red, ill also need yellow tape to mark the yellow one. Maybe 3' of each? Heat shrink? Splices?

If unable to splice it, I'll need 4' of each and lugs.

Yea I just called engo and asked if I should go up a size. He said they are fine with that size wire unless I wanted to mount I real far away. I told him it'll be 3' at most and he said that's fine. We'll see, I might decide differently when I go to pick up the wire

Yea but that means having to open up the solenoid and replace everything. I was hoping to just cut and add 3' to what's existing.

    We'll see.

Too bad we didn't think of that last weekend!

Now I'm actually wondering if I can mount the solenoid in the bumper next to the winch so I don't need to extend the expensive wires (which I checked barlowrs build and he's using 2gauge for his winch, surprisingly).
I'm hoping I can access the plug through a hole in the bumper, and if not I can extend the wires to relocate the plug somewhere else.

And I actually owe credit for that idea to Fred.. Which may or may not be a good idea because apparently his winch killed its self

Yea I'm curious how well sealed that box is.

I think that would be a good mod day but there's no where around here to wheel really. Looks like down by you or up by Eddie are the only places I know of.

We'll see how productive I am this weekend :D

well I spent $175 on wire today... :(

I only needed the existing wires to be 8 inches longer, but I replaced everything with marine grade tinned wire. then stuffed it all in wire loom. I siliconed the seal when I put the solenoid back together, as well as any screw/bolt holes, and where the wires come out. Hopefully the wires are the right all the right length and it actually works when i plug in the remote

That will be my project for tomorrow.
