    yea exactly what he said.

I even cut down the terminals on the back of the switches to half the length, and soldered wires at a 90* angle.

Definitely want to use the OTRATTW 2 switch panel trim piece because it takes up a little room and pushes the switches out like another 1/8"

for wiring it I put 8-10" long wires on the switches with quick disconnect ends so I can take it all apart if I need too. then ran the power and ground down the driver side A pillar and ran the power out wires down the passenger side A pillar.

heres the only pic I have from the back.

that black wire with blue bullet disconnect is for my map lights on with dome lights mod.

Thanks. It'll be a while before I put anything in them but I wanted to see how you had the wires run.

Been working on my 90k mile maintenance when I've had time.

    -transfercase oil
-transmission fluid (should do again soon, I just did the simple method which only replaces what's in the pan. Less than 3 qts. Old atf was very brown)
    -rear diff fluid
-front diff I have to wait till I put more miles on the new gears
    -engine oil and filter
    -air filter
-cleaned MAF sensor and throttle body
    -inner and outer tie rods
    -cvj cvs
    -wheel bearings

Cleaned and repainted my skids while they're off. Used an outrigger from a bucket truck at work to try to bend them back into shape first lol.

Need to flush the power steering fluid

And I figured out why my passengerside heated mirror hasn't been working. When I wired it up I must've run the wire through the window track, then at some point when the window went down it cut the wire in half.

Lol at the outrigger. I should already be thinking bout a 40-50K maintaince, already hit 42K. I'm getting a sort of ticking from the engine area when it idles. Kinda starting to sound like an old truck :anonymous: and still have to find where I hear a clunck noise, seems to happen at a very slow speed when Im pulling in and out a parking space but also when I'm going straight out of a spot :notsure:

The clunk sounds like LCA bushings... that's how mine started when they went bad

these engines are known for the ticking. if you're real worried about it you should send an oil sample to blackstone labs for analysis.

what kind of oil are you using?

have you done your 30k mile maintenance? rear diff, front diff, transfercase, air filter, cabin air filter.

you should check all the bolts in the front end to make sure they are tight to try to find the clunk.

how many miles did you have when they went bad? i'm at 90k on stock LCA bushings. I grease the cams and bolts annually though.

Hey I think I'd like to get to switches in there also. Looking in there I found a sensor, did you have the same? You know what it is?

Probably not going to happen in here anytime soon. I'll be trying longer shackles first.

so let me give a brief lesson:

don't get stupid and go wheeling on snowmobile trails. especially without another rig to help if you get stuck. definitely bring warm clothes incase you need to spend time outside the truck.

got really lucky and was able to hike out that night and then hike back in and find someone with a tractor to pull my truck out of the ditch.

my damage has all been minor (so far):

-passengerside mirror- glass popped out, was able to pop it back in and it works now.

-winch line snapped- cut out the bad section and spliced it back together.

-winch stopped working- checked continuity on remote and had none, took it apart.. switch came unplugged. cord mustve gotten tugged too hard and unplugged from the switch. easy fix. now the winch works.

-softtopper came off- had it off a few days prior and installed part of the clamps incorrectly.

-wheels would freeze up and not spin after sitting a little while- hosed all the ice and mud out of the wheels and parked it in the garage at work for it to thaw and dry up.

passenger side definitely has a bunch of scratches and I'm sure after i wash it, it will look pretty bad. but there doesn't appear to be any dents.

I also didn't have any skids on, and was really worried about crushing the oil pan or transmission pan on some small trees but they appear to be in fine condition.

I realized the next day that it happened on my deceased mother's birthday.. so maybe I have a guardian angel.
