    Well my new mod should be here tomorrow. I'm a little disappointed with the lack of communication and the long wait for them to ship it. But I know they were waiting for parts to come back from powdercoat and it's a new item so I'll have to give them a break. I'll save my judgement for how I feel about the product when I get a chance to install it.

    Yeah no doubt. It's even worse now that the program's been discontinued. trdparts4u bumped their price up 10% a few days after the announcement, and apparently the Tacoma fit kits are nearly impossible to find now.

    Yea need to take some better pictures, but I got a new roof rack.





    Warrior products, platform style roof rack. 1.25" round outer tube, 1" square cross bars. It's fucking stout.

    The hi lift mount for it was just designed, this was from the first production batch. Other than the plastic thumb screws that hold down the hi lift, they are very well designed and very strong.

    I switched from my old Thule cross bars because I wanted something more utilitarian. The ability to keep the hi lift, TREDs, and maybe a rifle case with recovery gear in it, frees up some space in the bed and makes these things much easier to get to. Also I caught one end of my Thule rack on a tree once and dented the roof. Between that and seeing how BGR's Yakima rack sliced his roof open like a can opener, makes me not a fan of those style racks for offroad vehicles.

    It will be a pain in the ass to remove everything if I ever decide to put the rooftop tent on the roof rack, but I'm confident I'll mostly be using my bed rack for it anyway.
