how do you figure? Go to any ohrv trailhead and you’ll see more sxs’s than anything else.

And where are there plenty of places to ride a dual sport? Besides the increasingly controversial pine barrens, there’s pretty much nothing else in this state.

I ride all over the pines, controversial or not I have less impact and am more legal than the fucking idiots driving SXS's and quads down 70. Usually it's the SXS leaving heaps of trash and shit out in the pines or hauling way to fast/going off trail on the trails out west. I just dislike em is all.

Mike is right, side by sides are trash. They are the new “doughnuts in the parking lot crowd”. They are ruining Moab and other than the people that rent them, the locals/ guys that frequently go there can’t stand them. I also agree with Mike that they are majorly more so responsible for trashing the pines than others, every single sxs you see down there has atleast a cooler in the back. Some quads do to but it’s not as often. “Hypothetically” it’s the same thing up in north jersey on the various areas people “aledgedly” go riding. Those guys probably lose more trash on accident than I can even physically carry on my dual sport

    What haven’t I changed?
There is a big trail system near where I live and it's mind-boggling how much more erosion the trails have after a SxS rental company start operating in that area about 5 years ago. The last time I went the trails were crawling with SxS without a shred of trail etiquette, like blasting downhill while I was trying to ascend in sections that were not much wider than my truck.

That’s exactly how Moab was vs 5 years ago when I was there

Ok I guess I misunderstood what you were saying, hence my statement that you see a lot of them at trailheads.

I can see what you’re saying, although I think that the “overlanding” fad is probably responsible for a lot of that sort of trail destruction too.

Doesn’t matter what you’re riding, trail etiquette is important. Where I like to ride my 4wheelers in VT and NH there’s usually really good trail etiquette. People pulling to the side and slowing down while holding up a hand with how many riders are in their group.

Unfortunately, off-roading is becoming more popular with people who don’t care to learn the right thing to do.

Anyways.. the B1g N1g got a new passenger.

Working on building out the bed a little bit. Cut a baseplate out of 1/2” Baltic birch plywood. It got 4 coats of total boat halcyon marine varnish. It’s attached to nutserts in the bed. The fridge slide is attached with threaded inserts.
    Next is the drawer.

    Nice!

Im planning on using some L-track to attach my fridge slide. I have a piece of 1/2" wood on the passenger side now, but still looking to decrease weight. The L-track will provide tie down options, and ability to remove the slide and other storage stuff that I have on the passenger side.

Im also planning on making an aluminum panel for the front of the bed, where Ill build out my second battery and bed electronics. Nothing fancy, just a DC-DC charger and some bed lighting. But my fridge will plug into that battery.

Nice. I have some L track on order, hopefully it’ll ship sometime next week.

here’s my progress on the drawer. Still waiting on L track for the top. Went with flanged (recessed) from macs tie downs. I’ll need to remove the drawer box from the truck and route grooves for the L track to fit into.

I’m thinking I’ll layout what I plan on keeping in the drawer, then screw in some dividers. Thought about routing slots every 6” for easily adjustable dividers, but I don’t think that will be necessary.
