Greetings! :) This is a feeler/meetup thread, seeing who's interested in maybe putting together a day trip to Tahuya, Washington, out near Belfair, WA on Sunday July 12th. This is just a day trip to run the loop, see some interesting scenery, and learn more about your vehicles. This is for the most part an easy trail, so if you're a beginner looking to get your feet wet in the offroading world, Then we'd love to have you.

Tentative meetup timeof 11am, time to meet at safeway in belfair set for 9:30am, departure for the trail set for 10am or shortly thereafter! We'd maybe throw some kind of lunch together, or we could just hit it. What do people think? The loop should take no more than 5 hours, pending breakdowns, trail progress, and other people out on the trail. If interested there is camping nearby if you want to stay the night. I personally wont be spending the night, as i live in seattle and would need to get home to go back to work the following day. I'd do this on saturday, but i have a wedding to go to. busy life...

If interested, let me know on the thread, looking forward to meeting fellow Tacoma brethren!
    -C

EDIT: please feel free to invite a couple of your non tacoma driving buddies. as long as we don't get to many people...

    EDIT x2: List of people:
    Confirmed:

Eh, see my Build Thread sig link. Too many mods to list.
I'd probably be down for it. A little earlier meetup might be better though. Last time we met at a Safeway in Olympia and caravaned from there, which was fun. And good, since I don't know how to get there by myself lol.

I would love to go and see the area and meet some of you guys. Count me in! I like the idea of meeting in Olympia.

I'm possibly interested. Course I say that to every trip and then work gets in the way :(

I'd like to see an earlier start time personally. Maybe go for 9am? 11am sort of kills the entire day vs a bit earlier at least gives the evening

Glad i said tentative... SO the consensus is to meet up at an earlier time, i would want to ask @stikle, since he's coming from Milwaukee OR. I wouldn't want to get up terribly early myself lol... Stikle, what is your opinion on the matter? if i said meet at the parking lot at tahuya at 9:30, is that to early?

i like 10am... that works for me, does it work for you @stikle? you olympia folks can work out a convoy solution, since i don't know where you're meeting in OLY to get up here, so i don't know how long it would take to get up to the grounds...

That's why it's easier to meet up at the Safeway at Belfair and then head in

Are we meeting at 10 and departing for trails at 10:30, or meeting at 9:30 and departing for trails at 10?

it takes one hour to reach Belfair from Olympia

I'd vote meet Safeway in belfair at 930. Head out for the trails 10am. Meeting at Safeway lets ya pick up any last minute things too. And it's easy to get to

If I go on this I'll just meet you guys at Tahuya if someone can get coordinates for a spot to meet up with everyone. I dont want to have to take a ferry or go across the tacoma bridge

Oh the Belfair safeway is really close to Tahuya? I thought Tahuya was more south.. Makes sense now

I'd like to meet at the Belfair Safeway unless someone can provide accurate coordinates to the trail staging area. I'll be taking the Narrows bridge coming from Renton. It's free going west but costs 5.00 to go east with G2G - which is about $1 cheaper then driving around through Olympia for me.....I hate tolls.

I'll just do what I did last time - drive up to Centralia the night before and catch a motel, then boogie up to Olympia Safeway the next morning. Full night's sleep that way and not a lot of driving beforehand. Plus that Safeway has a Starbucks, so...coffee GOOD.

CLICK HERE for the link for a map of the safeway to the northeast entrance point to Tahuya ORV area.
Click here for exact coordinates to the entrance.
Click here for a brief description and details about Tahuya on nwJeepn.com website.
You must have a discover pass on your vehicle if you are entering the park, to get one if you don't already have one, Click here for a list of stores near you that you can obtain one, or if you want to order it online and risk not getting it in time, click here.

So it sounds like most people are in agreement about meeting at the Safeway in Belfair at 9:30am. Once everyone is there and people have what they need, then we can head out to the grounds. If you're not to the safeway by 10, then you'll need to find your own way there.

All the links are belong to us.

Uh, i don't understand how you're gonna get there then, unless you're driving from Snohomish (as your profiles says you're from) all the way down to Olympia, and then north to Belfair, seems silly to do that? it'd almost be smart for you to hop on the Edmonds->Kingston Ferry, and drive down Hwy307 to Hwy3... Just a suggestion.

NO!!! A double negative!!! Now i'm lost.
