Hey all, I'd like to join in and meet some drivers. You mentioned relatively easy trails? I have experience driving jeeps off-road but first time Tacoma owner and it's currently stock (it did great in Snoqualmie pass last weekend though!- great first couple of scratches and minor dent). Thanks for the info.

Welcome to the party kevin! if it makes you feel better a few years ago, my dad drove his stock TRD Offroad tacoma Access Cab around the upper ring of tahuya. So i think you'll be alright, Do you have offroady tires?
Where abouts did you get those dings and scratches running around snoqualmie pass? FS roads? which ones? i am always on the lookout for a good road up there.

    Hi,
Sorry for the delay. I was headed up Snoqualmie pass towards exit 62- fs road 5400 where I've heard there are lots of cool areas to explore in a stock rig, plus the ghost town of Lester is neat. However, I got out a little late and decided to explore closer so I took exit 42 and towards the campsites in the national forest area. I headed up the FS road and saw some guys off the trail in a work truck 4-wheelin. There were some decent mud and rocky trails that appeared not too difficult but a bit much for stock. Anyway I wanted to try and made it through but slightly scratched up the lower front right bumper on some large rocks. At the top of the FS road, someone set up a firing range into the hill with old tires and other things to shoot at. Cool area. On my way down, some younger guys in a hatchback WRX STI came running up the hill. Pretty cool.

Eh, see my Build Thread sig link. Too many mods to list.
Hmm...I totally missed the operative word "Belfair" that was mentioned a bunch of times. That's what I get for reading/posting in the middle of packing for camping. Belfair Safeway <> Olympia Safeway.

I'll have to re-look at the map and re-examine the situation.

How do people feel about meeting at the safeway in belfair at 0930 and departing for the trail at 1000? that gives people enough time to shop at safeway if needed. @Chickenmunga didn't you have a list of things to have on your vehicle or stuff to bring? could you post that in here? i went through all the threads and couldn't find where you had posted that... mucho appreciatedo.
What's our form of communication? CB radios or FRS radios? i have 2 spare radios with one whip maggie mount antenna that someone could borrow, or i have 6 FRS radios.

Always CB, FRS only for people who don't have CB yet.

Do you have a submarine now?
I think Will also has some unfinished business there with an unbroken rear end.

    Options to get there:
    1. Take a ferry from Edmonds, then drive down the peninsula
    2. Take tacoma bridge, but watch out for cops around the highway 18 exit
    3. Drive down to Olympia then an hour back up.

Tahuya has trails for all types. I went out there in my truck when she was pretty much stock. From that experience, I will warn you that if you have step bars, nerf bars or whatever you want to call them, take them off first. I bent the brackets on mine out there.

I think you just got sick with a severe case of brown bottle flu that day
