Just thinking out loud here (or in this case, online), but has anyone tried cutting out two holes in the center bar on either side of the emblem on the 2011 grills and fitted them with short LED bars? I think it might work better on the 2012s since they already have mesh there. you could cut a channel behind the bar and mount one long LED bar behind the grill so it would shine through that light mesh and the emblem in the middle. I haven't looked closely at any of the 2012 grills so i dont know if clearing out a channel behind it would get rid of too much reinforcing members.
    what do y'all think?

actually, now that i think about it more, what about mounting it under the center bar on either year's grill, the 2012 has more space underneath the bar since its slightly above center of the grill. but the 2011's might be able to mount one above and below the bar behind the bigger mesh

I was thinking of the same scheme.
I looked at a pair of 6" or 10" Baja Design or Rigid Ind. LEDs mounted in the upper grill slot.
I'd have to trim away some of the plastic from the "bar" just below the hood, but it looks like it would fit.
I was talking with a friend at the local ORW, and he suggested a pair of Baja Design 3"x3" Squadron lights.
These look like they'd fit in the center of the upper grill slot, and not have to cut an upright, just trim some plastic, as above idea.
I did a similar mod in the lower grill slot, with a pair of PIAA 2100s.
