I agree - it being at a dealership is great peace of mind.

No kidding!! Though the work they've been doing on I-55 may actually get it removed from that list, if they ever make it south of Hammond. Might want to look at putting new shocks on your Taco too. Makes all the difference in the world once you get over 100k miles around here.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this already, but from the picture of the interior I see there are no floor mats. Those would definitely be a good investment, I personally recommend Weathertech.

As it gets closer. I get more nervous. I plan to take it up to Pikes Peak. So I guess if it has any problems it will show there. I plan to put 2,000+ miles in the first week of ownership.

I work mainly in the City. I have replaced so many ball joints because of Elysian Fields. I mean the pot-holes are one thing. Streets that haven't been repaired since Betsy are another. I don't know how our local leaders can't see this problem and fix it. I would rather nice roads, than the biggest jail in the country, or Projects designed to look like high-end housing...

Just noticed something I don't like. I didn't see it before, and the dealer didn't mention it. But the bumper is pushed in pretty good on the passenger side. I'm sure it will pop-out, but I'm sure it will chip the paint when I do...

Kinda sucks. But I don't consider it body damage, either; would just be nice to have mentioned it. Even my mechanic didn't mention it. I just saw it in this picture...

    j5crb5_22bfa0cb9dd5a9166420c5b697802dcf7e611ecb.jpg

    Look by the fog-light.

Damn. But It couldn't have been that bad if it didn't break the fog light, and I can tell the fog-light wasn't replaced, because who would even mess with fixing that, without pulling the bumper cover off and poping the dent out?

Well at worst I'm looking at a small bit of touch up work.

If that is the worst you find, I think your savings will take care of the fix.

I feel your pain. I hate driving down there just because of the roads. And I agree, it does seem more important to me as well. Good luck with the dent in the bumper.

Well being as it's a plastic bumper, it should pop out. But there might still be some ripples in the plastic. If the dealer is a Toyota dealer, call them before you head out & ask them about repairing it since they didn't mention it. But yeah it's not a huge deal. There's really nothing behind it to damage. Just gives you an excuse to buy an aftermarket bumper!

Still a good deal even with dent, but as others have stated, call the dealership and ask them about it... This guy has one for 200.00...shoot him a offer if no luck with dealership. Get it panted and put it on yourself.

Since this is a dealer, I'd maybe show up and act like you're going to walk on the deal because they didn't mention it and you're fearful what other unseen damage there might be. Might be dicey, since I assume you have a deposit on it and it was in the pictures, but I bet you could get it touched up a little as a compromise. Once your name is on the paperwork you don't have any leverage, so it's worth a shot. I doubt the dealer in CO will want to have a 2WD truck continue to sit on their lot as we get closer to snow season.

Might want to carefully check and make sure you aren't looking at a new bumper, that things aren't any worse than they appear.

I agree with everything that's been said so far.

I would call them, tell them you want it fixed before you go up there so it's ready to go when you arrive. Or ask for some money back and put that towards an aftermarket bumper. :D

More than likely, it wasn't anything big as it would have appeared on the CarFax had it been reported.

If they won't fix it there's some good youtube videos on it. Basically just get a hairdryer or a heat gun, warm the whole area up pretty good then just roll it out from behind with whatever you need to use (hand, end of a baseball bat, dolly). I've done it before, it works pretty well. Obviously cracked paint isn't going to uncrack but you can at least get the shape back and make it less noticeable.

That is a must, as I constantly have project cars in my yard I'm working on. My other truck I didn't care about the bumper, and its very scuffed up from pushing cars all the time. But it did no damage and its getting painted first week of September.

The Tacoma has a nice selection of aftermarket bumper, and I love the look. I used to have a big mean bumper like that on my '02 Montero(not sport; big one) A guy stopped short on a lane-added merge and I hit him. Totaled his Hyundai, $0 in damage to the Montero.

Also if the dealer repairs it on a trade in carfax will never spot it.

It's a Used lot at an Audi dealership.

I'm flying there Monday, no time for them to fix it.
I'm upset about the dent and my Dad is upset about the wheels. (more than I am) Cause the dealer put on the list that the wheels were a $3000 premium, but all I see is the stock 16"s.

I'm going to threaten negative feedback, as he has 99% positive, and only sells cars.

I had a mechanic check it out, but I'm bringing my stethoscope, long mirror, and inspection camera. I'm going to give it a thorough once over. I can spot repairs a mile aay.

Though, said it before. I feel that if the shop was trying to do a quick touch-up repair; they wouldn't have neglected the bumper.
