Started 2017 in financial distress because I had a third kid on the way, and I had a 28K car loan. Plus, I had 8k in student loans. My wife had a 15K remaining car loan and 18K in credit cards.

Today, I just paid my last debt payment! We paid off all our debt just by budgeting and being more disciplined. Everything was cashed flowed'. I have a Big bonus coming up in two weeks, and it's all My money. No creditors get to have any of it. I don't have any bills except my housing costs which are relatively cheap for the area. My wife now has no debt either.

We managed to spend less than $400 a month on groceries feeding a family of 5!

    Feels really great!

Good job Dave Ramsey! Now it's time to build your wealth and save for retirement! Cash flow everything from now on.

Seriously though, his concepts work. I had $200k in student loans. We are currently debt free, except our mortgage. Have a decent amount in retirement too! My goal is to retire at 52. I'm 34 right now.

I spend $400 in one trip to Whole Foods!

    I would enjoy $300 a month.

We started Dave Ramsey about 5 years ago. Changed our lives. Work too hard to just watch it go to others. Discipline and a budget is king.

Well done man. That is a life changing mod.

I’ve found that big-ticket purchases like vehicles and vacations are infinitely more pleasurable when you can actually afford them, not when you think you might be able to make the payments as long as nothing goes wrong.
