Sounds like you are on the path. Just stay professional and put the pressure on the 1-800 folks. I sensed they really do want to keep you (me/us) satisfied.

    I have no clue.
I am on the phone with Toyota right now. I think we will discuss the TSB shortly. She is 'researching the problem'.

Toyota may refuse to reimburse the dealer citing that the TSB does not apply to 2009 Tacomas.

The dealer isn't going to touch the TSB without getting paid for it, which is why most people have had good luck taking it up with Toyota and the dealer concurrently. You push Toyota, the dealer does what he can to "help you help him help you", and eventually enough momentum seems to build up that most people get their TSB done.

Okay just finished up. I brought up the TSB and said that I had heard something about this being an issue on previous models. Long story short, I politely told her that my research showed me that I had the springs marked with part numbers affected by the TSB. Also that I only had 3 leafs and my understanding was that the updated springs had 4 leafs. She was slightly familiar with the issue and TSB, but not the the extent of part numbers. She forwarded it to the dealer, and the dealer is supposed to call me in the next couple days. I have the case number and we will see what happens. Thanks to all of you for your help and input. I will definitely keep you updated.

Pretty much the way my conversation ended with my Service Director. Seems they are getting their routine down a little better.;) I'll guess your next call will be to make an appointment. Good luck!

    A little update......

Yesterday morning about 0730 the dealership calls me back and asks if I can bring the truck back in so they can load it with something and try again. I said thats fine, but I don't know when it will be. (Thinking I will give Toyota time to call the dealer). About 3 hours later, dealer calls me back and said with my approval they will order parts,b ut it is a ONE TIME thing. I said okay, and they will call me when they get here.:D
