sway bars do not affect ride quality (up and down motion)

perhaps when taking a turn, the truck would lean/sway more so it might feel more cushiony. but in time, i think this is going to prematurely wear out your suspension components, primarily all your bushing.

this is my first rwd/4x4 vehicle, and im worried removing the front sway is going to make my ass end too happy and give me unpredictable oversteer. i dont mind oversteer if it presents itself in gradual manner at its limits, but i dont need to be oversteering everywhere. lets crawl before i walk, eventually i will run.

I would be down if you were closer, southern jersey is a haul for me. The main reason people take their sway bar off is for better articulation offroad. That would just make my tires rub more lol. Speaking of wheels and tires, what are you going to go with?

I have never had an issue with Toytec.
The front is pretty easy and the back should be cake too. I did the add a leaf that was a pain in the ass.
:eek:I am working the 4,5, and 6 but I'm off the following weekend.

FYI, for those curious, ToyTec does say they install the trim packer with the OME kit:

"- (1) OME trim packer to be installed on the driver side to help level your Tacoma side to side." I'm saving up for pretty much this exact set up, so I can't wait to see your end results.

i purchased Fuel Krank 17x9 in black 4.5bs, -12mm offset with Good Year Wrangler Duratrac's 285/70/17

wheel and tire set up looks exactly like this with more or less "dish" in the rim. this is a generic googled picture, going on a 2013 black quad cab TRD OR

Thats going to look awesome. Looks like those are sitting on some dubs lol. The 285 duratracs look awesome on 17s perfect wheel to tire ratio IMO

    Scott

i dont have a lot of tools, just basic wrenches and sockets up to 19mm. i dont have jack or stands either.

let me PM Anthony he said he would be down for helping as well.

i could travel down to you... (my parents live in Somers Point)
or we can all meet up and do it somewhere. i do have access to 11 bays with hydraulic lifts, jacks, stands, air tools, and all the wrenches and sockets you can think of on Fort Dix for 3 dollars per hour to rent a bay

you can get on base no problem with your credentials for law enforcement/DOC as we have a prison on base.

we would have to escort in anthony in my truck or yours if he were to come.

ill/we'll try to set something up

    thanks!

    **edit***
of course what ever we decide, beer and subs will be provided by me. except if we do it on base, beer will be given to you to take home

Let me know what day and I might be able to help. Keep in mind that I don't know what I am doing, all I would be good for is a set of hands. (I've never messed around with suspension work.)

Complete OME suspension with Dakar leaf pack. Clarion touch screen Sport hood Tri fold Tonneau cover
I would have to disagree. Sway bars tie both sides of your independent suspension together. If you hit a bump with your right tire, your right side suspension will soak up the bump but with the sway bar on both sides will feel the bump. I doubt it makes a huge difference but I feel that the ome springs are stiff enough to keep the truck where it should be in the turns. I don't drive very fast or take quick turns usually so I am not too worried.

As for the front end components wearing out quicker, changing the geometry of the suspension with the lift is probably going to be harder on your bushings and bearings than the removal of the sway bar. I could be way off. Either way you definitely made a good choice with your lift and you will enjoy the ride quality no matter how you run it!

Nick with a jack and stands you can do it in a driveway no problem. Get a set of stands so you can do your rotations. I've pulled out and swapped several sets in my driveway it'll only take you 2 hours the most. If you did rears yourself then fronts are no problem. If you wanna come here I have everything needed and im home all the time

    Sheppy,

im only 20 minutes from philly. that could work out pretty good as well. id prefer to install with someone who's done it before, without me or the other person(s) driving too far.

like i said, i can do the fronts no problem, just with the rear some help would be nice.
im gonna send you a PM
