I have two full-time jobs. I just took two nights off of my second job...and used my time after church on sunday. Worked till midnight on it saturday night. I also have a second car so it was able to be left dead overnight.

How great is this (quick story)...as I'm working on the truck I hear a knock on the garage door...I answer it and it's my girlfriend with a large order of buffallo wings, iced coffee, and a snickers. She said "take a break". I laughed and ate wings in the bed of the truck with her, kicking aside the parts that came out of the truck.

Yea, you can apply it right over the dynamat.
Where the most noise comes from would depend on a few things I guess. If you have MT tires they will obviously create a lot of noise. Same thing would apply to aftermarket exhaust systems, etc (but if you have them, you probably arent concerned about sound deadening anyway right?)
Take it step by step. I always thought the roof made a big difference. Like I said, the reduction in noise when its raining was trememdous imo. The wind noise is a nice bonus too. You'll notice the deadening project worked when you dont have to turn your radio up as high, its easier to hear people on the phone and when you're talking amongst yourselves inside the truck.
Fwiw, If you're going to pull the roof liner down, the pillars will have to come down as well so you can think about an expanding foam inside of them as well if you'd like. Won't make much of a difference but while they're down....why not.

Any major brand will essentially do the same thing. I used SecondSkinAudio and was happy with their products.

MLV barrier can be had at a number of places. It's all basically the same as long as it's 1lb per square foot. Most will make you buy a 100sqft roll so find someone locally to you that wants some too and split the roll with them.

You also can't just lay the MLV on the surface. You need to FLOAT it (decouple) above the surface using some foam.

Have a look in this thread. I gave a full rundown on everything I did and explained everything (I hope) well.

Nice OP.. am actually going to be doing this sometime this month myself. Gonna use some FatMat rattle trap. Gonna do the front doors, back wall, and under the hood on as much of the firewall as possible. Do you guys think it will help In the engine bay? My reasoning Is that my Intake sounds great, BUT, the sound resonates and rattles in my dash area.. I'm hoping some sound deadening around the firewall and the intake will get rid of the tingy can sound. Any input or suggestions OP or anybody else?

I'm doing the firewall from the engine side too. Worth it. make sure it is clean clean clean first. I don't know about the hood. I still cant wrap my head around how that helps.

I didnt mean on the hood itself.. lol. My bad.. I meant under it, in the engine bay. You think that will help the noise im getting? The sound doesnt bug me.. it sounds great but the reverberation is ridiculous. Lol
