i have a complete OME kit, 885 coil up front and dakar rear leaf springs

I did notice driving it today, upon hard acceleration i felt a bit of shuddering for a split second then goes away.

i don't know my working drive angles

is it advisable to add a spacer after flipping the cb 180 degrees?
has anyone placed spacer back after flipping it?

Ok cool! Do you know your pinion angle?

I'm curious to know your setup since no vibration. I have reduced my vibration a lot with just a 2 degree shim.

Before flipping the CB / I tried different spacers... all had vibrations at around 20mph
After i flipped the cb with no spacers, no more vibrations

but today noticed under hard acceleration, i noticed a shudder for a split second then it went away

I am now wondering if anyone have tried adding a spacer after flipping the cb

On measuring the pinion angle or any other angles, does the truck need to be on level surface / ground?

Hey folks. Newbie here. Just wanted to start by thanking those of you who have contributed so much info to this discussion. I just bought a used 2008 SR5, and truth be told I really didn't want to buy a car at the time. In a past life I was a Cruiserhead. Did JDM turbo-diesel swap (myself) in an 87 FJ60, sold it, and bought a 93 FZJ80 with intentions of doing another swap. Blew the head gasket in that one, replaced it myself, and then lost the energy to do the swap so I sold that one too. Decided I wanted to have a maintenance free car for a while so I bought a 2005 Nissan Xterra Off-road and installed an OME kit on it. The X didn't have the character of a Cruiser but that thing was awesome off road. At 134K miles the X and I had a little disagreement: I wanted more maintenance free driving but it wanted to blow A BUNCH of electrical system components in the middle of a drive to pick up my son from climbing. Long-story short, although I really didn't want to buy a new car I decided I might be at the point of throwing good money after bad, and with one car I wanted a little more confidence. Saw the 08 Taco and bought it, all smiles until I began to notice the good vibrations. Mine are intermittent (some days I feel them more than others) but I have the tell-tale take-off shudder and rhythmic humming between 50-65.

Because of this thread I'm feeling like I just may get this truck to a condition better than I found it, which always makes me happy. About to measure all my angles and prepare a plan for adjustments once I figure out what suspension upgrades I'm going to make.

Thanks to you all. Happy Sunday.

    Thanks for sharing info!

Yes you need to be on level ground..., despite what others may say.

    Let me know.

I also did the ECGS bearing upgrade, that took care of all the front end vibrations....

I plan to take measurements later

here are my measurements based on iphonene app = tremec toolbox

u joint flange right in front of the rear diff = 4.0
rear drive shaft before CB = 10.2
front drive shaft in front of CB = 3.8

measured in the center of each drive shaft

Wow, that is a trip the large angle gap between both drivelines. I understand they need to be within 1 degree difference of each other.

Rear pinion is 4 degrees with AAL? Who's AAL you used again?

Quick question.. The difference between my transfer case output and pinion output is 1.7 degrees. Should I go with a 1.5 or 2 degree shim?

i have a question for the pros

I flipped the CB, less vibes but still has a bit of vibe from 0-20mph .... aside from this it runs smooth.
Can flipping the CB cause u joint damage?
If I reverse the CB and just place a cb drop kit, it vibrates 0-20mph and 20-0 mph, but is it safer for the u joints?

what is best solution for a complete vibe free drive line? does it need a shim under rear leaf springs?

Awesome thread... feel much more educated now that I read through all 22 pages :) I recently installed Icon Extended travel front coilovers with OME dakars in the back. I have a slight vibration at takeoff and a noticeable vibration starting around 55-60 miles an hour and up.

I already installed a front diff drop kit (came with the OME leaf springs so I assume it is pretty much required.) My next step is to install the Carrier Bearing drop kit as well.

My question is this... I notice my track has a bit of a rake, a bit lower in front than in the back. I assume the OME springs are giving me about 3" of lift while my Icon front coilovers came pre-set at 2.5". Do you guys think before I install the CB drop kit that I should raise the front lift to match the rear? would this correct some of the misalignment of the driveshaft? Thanks fellas!

Ever since I got my truck back after the new frame and leafs I've had some bad intermittent vibrations. The rear is about 2 inches higher than the front now so I'm guessing that's where I start. Already have 5100 adjustable so I'm thinking about setting them to the first setting and hope for the best. Had a shop install them so not sure how to adjust height. I don't mess with struts. They scare me.

So people have reported shuddering when taking off....

How have you guys addressed the vibration or shudder at start of driving (1-4 mph)?

i had that shuddering /vibrations when taking off , when i first installed my OME lift kit

ECGS bearing took care of most of it, i tried different other tips from this forum (flipped CB , different spacers under CB) so far best results was 3/4" spacer under CB

just a slight vibe at 25-30mph nothing below that speed or above that speed

Do you have a link for that bearing you bought?

And you lower CB 3/4 inch?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the link! I'll do my research and see how it works.

I wonder if the shudder comes from installing AAL in rear vs new leaf pack...?
