Reinstalled my stock leafs and shocks last night to measure stock angles. Test drive with NO VIBRATIONS.
    TC- 2.3* down
    1st shaft 7.9* down
    2nd shaft 5.7* down
    Pinion 5.2* up

Drove over to my buddies house who has a 2015 4wd Tacoma sport. Bone stock.
Measured his driveline angles. Almost the same. He says he has not vibes.
    TC- 2.5* down
    1st shaft 8.0* down
    2nd shaft 5.5* down
    Pinion 5* up

Drove over to my parents house and measured their 2007 4wd Tacoma bone stock. Again another Tacoma with no vibes.
    TC- 2.9* down
    1st shaft 8.0* down
    2nd shaft 5.5* down
    Pinion 5* up

All three trucks with stock rearsuspension. All measurements with a Johnson level magnetic digital angle locator. Took measurements off the flat part of the Tc outputshaft, flat part of the pinion output shaft.

Those numbers dont mean much... you need to work with joint angles, not shaft angles.

What are you talking about? You use those number to find the working angles.

but what are the numbers referenced against? There is a zero out function on the digital gauges for a reason. Set on one side of the joint, zero, set on other, boom instant joint angle number.

Measure both sides of the joint. Add if opposite angles. subtract is similar. Boom working angle.

so you are telling me you have a 5.5* angle at the tcase down, 2.2* angle up at the 2nd joint, and a .5* angle up at the pinion?

Yup. And all three trucks drive smooth with no vibration.

Did you measure your angles before you installed the aftermarket parts?

Flip the carrier bearing 180 degree and I’m vibe free.

I chased my vibration around and around then looking under the truck one day I could see the problem, flipped the center support bearing and all was good.

My wife’s ‘06 4-Runner appears to have come from the factory with traction bars.

LOL.... those arent traction bars... the 4 runner has an entirely different rear suspension. A parallel 4 link with panhard and coil springs.

Well there ya go. I had been dealin with axel wrap in my Taco, and when I was putting air in the tires of a recently purchased 4-Runner(which I’ve not yet had reason to do any work on) I said “well dang! Wish that was on the Taco”

Hello all. I installed new heavy duty leafs (slight lift) and developed vibes from 10mph to 35mph and minor 55 to 65. Replaced every U joint and carrier bearing, all of which where fine. Got alignment. Learned how to use angle finder and had everything canceled out on paper. Dropped carrier/center bearing. STILL VIBES!! After hours of reading and super frustrating week of trial and error(out of options) I figured what could it hurt to flip the center bearing. All vibes gone!! so happy. I dont understand why because angles dont match what all the videos and forum talk say but give it a try.

Did you leave the carrier drop shims on when flip the center carrier bearing?

can someone explain how to flip the carrier bearing? It sounds pretty easy, but I guess I'm not understanding what exactly to flip. Is it the U-bracket that is holding the driveshaft?

you lay under your truck, remove two bolts on a center drive line support bearing, rotate it 180* and re-install the bolts.
