Tint (35%), a must. Step bars, Bull bar, Bull lights,4x4 light mod, Flip down 10" DVD player, De badged, Color match front emblem, color matched bumpers., black out tails, Cobra cb, Flashlight mod,bed-light mod,
The first sentence in our mumbles explains it. Woman driver. A truck of any model will last forever as long as one takes care of it. If you wreck it and take the insurance money and replace the parts with aftermarket then shame on you.

The resale value on Tacos was good at one time. It is not so much now. I bought my truck new for 34k out the door and was only able to get 26k . The truck was still under the factory warranty and had only 12k miles.
Chevy's resale value is always up and down. Fords seem to maintain a good balance as long as the trucks are cared for and not all jacked up.

I think the Tacos are a good balance for midsize trucks. If your not hauling yatchs around all day. The Taco is a great truck. The aesthetic of the interior .I think have always been the downside of the Taco. And the fact that they need to give us the Diesel option as Ford, Dodge, and others do.

    Just my two pennies worth.

I agree...the instrument panels in the Canyon/Colorado are more like a "pod", a tunnel that you look into. It's too small and squished-in. Perfect size for a Yugo though....

I think it looks ok. The way a vehicle looks is still a strong factor in buying, but this generation of GM's has to establish some kind of reliable track record. I believe the competition will be good for Toyota. If one truck dominates a particular market too long, they get a little complacent.

How are they pointless? There are tons of people that want the convenience of a truck without having a huge full size truck and a V8. Take me for example, I currently own a sedan and looking at all the midsize trucks now. Why? Because I own one jet ski that combined with the trailer and full tank of gas is only 1000 pounds. I don't need something that can pull 10,000 pounds, that's too much truck and just a waste of gas for my situation. They may seem pointless in your situation but I can't see how people think their pointless for everyone.

Don't see how her being a girl (who knows how to drive a manual, it's all she's ever driven) has anything to do with catastrophic transmission failure within a week of owning it.
Now on what you said about the Tacoma, you're right. It's a mid size, it's not meant to tow everything in the world. Way I see it, a midsize gives you a bit of everything, especially if it's an access or double cab. I feel that my little 96 xtracab is the best fit for me. I can haul/tow must of what I need to, I get decent mpgs, and I can carry five people.

Yea, but there's no telling what the person before her did.

2 people and 3 midgets? 3 in the cab, 2 in the bed?

It gives you nothing worthwhile if the fuel economy and cost to purchase isn't significantly better than a full size - except that a midsize may fit in your garage better and take 2 seconds less to park. You sacrifice comfort, hauling ability, and towing ability... and that kind of sucks. It'd be hard for me to justify a midsize again unless I was raking in somewhere near 25mpg in a 4x4.

Truth. I'm sure the new Ridgeline will be horrendous though... and even if they make it more of a truck, is it going to be BOF? That doesn't seem to be Honda's forte.

I was pleased with the resale value on my 2012 Tacoma... I think I paid 21k, got 17.5k exactly 2 years and 25,000 miles later, private party, giving a discount off bluebook to my ex-gf's dad. I think my Ram depreciated $8,000 the second it left the lot, and it's a piece of shieet. I'd probably buy a first year vehicle again (Toyota, Honda, other reputable company) but not a Ram. It's not even just that my truck is in the shop with 8k miles for serious issues, it's that parts aren't available and techs are uninformed. I might be wrong, but I don't see that scenario happening with a Toyota.

It looks like a Honda Ridgeline. I keep my Tacoma.

Never ever will I believe Merc, Cadillac, Buick or Lincoln has better reliability than a Toyota. I don't care what a magazine has.

In my Head the only 2 worthwhile reliable vehicles are:

    Toyota/Lexus
    Honda/Acura.

The rest are still playing catchup, albeit some are getting closer as Toyota/Honda's seem to be slipping.

I don't care about fuel economy, although 20.7mpg average (what my truck consistently gets) is nice. Fuel accounted for 4% of my spending in 2014, it was paid for (and then some) through work because I did some off site jobs and receive a kilometer allowance.

I will buy another Tacoma for reliability, a manual transmission, manouverability, decent handling, adequate stock ground clearance and off road ability. Full size trucks don't interest me as they don't tick all of those boxes.

Credit where it's due. A dude on coloradofans added 33s and a 2" lift. Makes me tempted to try reliability roulette.

It would look even better with the blacked out grill and mirrors on the AT package.

Looks sick, I still prefer the Tacoma.
Nothing wrong with the looks of those trucks but never would I buy one.

Those look huge for 33's. Maybe the fact that it appears to be a full size truck but isn't is messing with me.

I think it looks great though. If I knew it would be reliable I'd happily buy one... but I didn't see ventilated seats as an option on even the highest trim :\
