Ha ha, it's an xtracab, I've got the little back seats. A large person probably wouldn't be too comfortable, but it's great for hauling around family. We're all pretty small people, so it works out.

I know the feeling. I made the switch to the 2nd gen b/c the 1st gen access cab was becoming a nuisance. Those suicide doors are worth their weight in gold. So much easier to get stuff from back there, and move stuff around.

i would much rather choke on a thousand dicks and die on prime TV and disgrace my entire family for generations... then buy a Chevy Colorado. Cheap plastic is cheap plastic. And the entire truck is cheap plastic.

I hope you guys noticed the "recovery hook" on the front bumper...It's right out there cause it's used so often... That is a great idea, because EVERY chevy I've owned was "recovered" many times....(IE: dragged home)....

    Taco's don't get dragged....they DRAG others... hehe

An auto journalist, writing a review of the New England auto show, concludes:

"Given my girlfriend's interest in the Chevy Colorado, as we passed by Toyota's display on our way out I brought her to a Tacoma king cab. We looked it over, and she fell in lust with it. Though it has similar dimensions to the Colorado, everything just looked and felt better made, higher quality, more solid. Instead of a piece of low hanging plastic in front just asking to get broken off, it had a functional skid plate. The tie downs in the bed were better. The seats were a little more comfortable. I think we just found her next vehicle."

That's a winch, and is an amazing design. I bet a lot of Tacoma Worlders would kill for a factory integrated steel winch bumper.

Aside from the weatherstripping and windshield leakages I've read about, pools of water in the cab...I think the GM twins should get Car and Driver's Truck of The Year award! :boink:

I used to own a 2004 Colorado. I wont go back to Chevy, too many bad experiences with the vehicle and the company in general.

Had a 2005 colorado and the windshield leaked. I wasn't aware that this was a common issue. More reasons to go back to toyota.

    Meh.

I test drove a Colorado - a crew cab long bed 4x4 - it was loaded. This was before I was even looking at the Tacomas. It was OK, but just didn't do it for me. It's funny - the reviews I have read claim the Colorado rides best, Frontier 2nd and Tacoma as dead last - I think the Tacoma rides much better than the Colorado - the back end was WAY too bumpy, which was surprising on that long of a wheel base.

I've since sat in a Colorado since I bought my Tacoma - the Colorado's interior just feels smaller - much narrower and the footwells feel more cramped to me. And the gauge cluster isn't my preference.

I am glad I went with the Tacoma - I've been wanting one since about 2002 - finally made it here.

And don't forget the mal-functioning(defective) active grille shutters & hvac controls. ;)
