dont sign off on any medical papers saying that your ok...... document everything doctors office visits, any prescriptions you receive (be sure to document the WHOLE cost of the prescriptions, not only the co-pay if you are covered under health insurance), if they REALLY want to be stupid be prepared to have them blame you for this. trust me i had the same situation just happen to me about a couple weeks ago, where i was stopped at the light got rear ended and said it was my fault that i didnt go. they may apologize at the scene or whatever but once they talk to their insurance agent their story changes. this lady will hopefully be getting some jail time... sorry to hear that you got injured man... damn

Sorry about the news of the loss of your truck, but at least everyone involved was OK. Trucks can be replaced a life can't. Weird that all vehicles involved were Toyota's.

After you finish with the doctor, get a good lawyer. Her insurance company will try to ram it to you after the fact. Don't let the insurance company talk you into anything. It's your body and truck, not theirs.

    Glad you're ok!

And Pray she doesn't have minimum coverages......

Mos people who have no assets to protect just buy the minimum which doesn't cover anything major. After the insurances are paid put to all who were damaged there may be some left for medical. I wish the States would raise those minimums to $100K

Went to see a lawyer today, gave them all the documents, pics, witness info and statements I have as well as a printout I made explaining everything that happened to the best of my memory. They said this is a pretty cut and dry case, her insurance won't want to prolong a DWI case and will likely settle pretty quickly. They're sending me to see their chiropractor on Friday. Ready to get this all behind me.

Yes, the guy that works at Sonic that witnessed it said the police came to see him afterwards to get his statement and told him she was drunk. I don't have official confirmation she was drunk but I don't see any reason this kid would lie or be mistaken about he was told. I'll have the police report tomorrow morning so I'll know for sure.

This is a little off topic, but this sounds a bit concerning. If you're not driving around in your wife's little Nissan with the kids, does that mean that she is? And if she is, what if it had been her at that light rather than you in your truck? Obviously I don't know the answers so I'm not jumping to conclusions, but that's how it sounds from your post?

Now on topic, if for some ridiculous reason they don't total your truck, which would be extremely hard to imagine, you'll want to look into Diminished Value.

are you still in pain or just sore and shocked still, because my brother got involved in a rear end collision and had some problems down the road after words, chronic back pain and what not.

Dude, I'm glad you walked away from that. Get checked out by a Dr. Sometimes it takes a few days for some injuries to really manifest themselves.

Hey man glad you're ok,in June the 14th to be exact the same happened to me in my TRD pkg tweaked it 3mm( frame) .Was stopped in traffic happened to look in rearview mirrow and hear comes a Mustang doin bout 45 mph never hit the brakes. My mistake was being prepared I grabbed the steering wheel and both feet on the brake ,bent the steering wheel most of the impact was caught in the hitch twisted the hitch came thru the bumper. have been seeing a Doctor now for 9 months with lots of neck pain and lower back pain. I had full coverage as did the young kid that was texting when he hit me. Get a good attorney ! ! ! Looks like she must been goin a little faster than 40mph though , Good Luck !
