I just got my Dynomax Super Turbo 17748 in the mail today!!!

However I was wondering if I can get it welded on or not. I was speaking to a guy who does welding and he said that I would not be able to because they are dissimmilar metals.

However I have seen that a bunch of people have had them welded. I am not sure what to do?

OK, so after calling a few places, prices seem to range from 50-100 dollars to just weld this on.

To me this seems a little high considering I was reading on here that people were getting them installed for $30-$50.

The places I called were 2 muffler shops and a Merlin Muffler. Should I just try and go with a smaller type place rather than a chain?

The few metal shops that I called all said that they could not do it because they are not insured to do auto work.

I really dont feel like paying $60+ when I hear people on here paying only $30-$40

secret to getting a good deal is to hit up a mom n pop type shop...

dont judge a shop by its cover... it might look ghetto on the outside, but a lot of those small shop welders are more attentive than the bigger, cookie cutter chains...

hit up a spot that works on a lot of custom application vehicles...

i have a spot by my house that a lot of the local lowriders go to... these guys are thorough and do clean work... best part, i can bring my own muffler in and they will charge me 25 bucks for labor...

What were the places you called? I took mine to Muffler Masters & it was $45. Make sure they know you're bringing a muffler, they just need to cut off the old one and weld on a new one.

Sorry to hear you cannot find a a good price. There has to be a shop in your area that can install it for less than $50. Good luck with your search.

    Update**

I was able to go to a local muffler shop and have them weld it on for $40 tax included, so I was happy.

Sorry about the crappy quality, it was on my cell phone. I will get a better one up later

Honestly I have really not noticed much of a diference. :(

I do notice a bit of a lower rumble upon acceleration and perhaps a bit of pep. But another key that I wanted was to get better MPG's. So it is too early to tell if it will help as of yet.

I will keep you posted. However for $82.65 installed, I was happy with it
